Aaah, not as good as previous shaves, but OK. That MWF requires 2(two)swirls with my brush (one before each pass). I just couldn't mix water&soap that well today-will see about this issue tomorrow. Could be why I got 3 cuts, no Knicks, no polka dots. More about the cuts later. Cheeks&sideburns were fine. Ditto N. Porcupine. All 3 cuts happened at S. Porcupine, all lined up in a 45 degree angle. One was worse than the other two. Good job down at Cactus Nation. The cold water rinse and Bill Neumann A.S. eased the big cut a bit and helped ease the redness of the other two. I just need to get ,more of the MWF on my face and neck. One swirl per pass isn't necessary but with MWF&Williams you have to do it. Maybe with a Bill Neumann soap as well(although I haven't shaved with BN soap yet). Pretty Excellent. (Oh, I forgot...finished with Mutamayez by Swiss Arabian. That no doubt helped the Pretty Excellent persuasion of things.)

Sorry about the cuts, but still a good shave, Paul! Hopefully the next one will be better!

Thank you Daniel....right, it was good in more places than bad. I still need to get the hang of these "glorified" pucks.

SOTD MONDAY MORNING, MAY 9, 2022

Finally a bright, sunny day, albeit cooler than these old bones prefer at a current chilly 53°F going up to a somewhat warmer 67° later today. Gromit, my doxie buddy, woke both myself and the bride with furious barking at 5:30 AM this morning. As it turned out, his nemesis, the squirrel who lives in the oak in our back yard was perched on our bedroom window sill.

After chasing the pesky rodent away, I let the Grom out to do his business. Sure enough, there was the squirrel, again sitting in plain sight on the fence encircling our yard. Gromit immediately chased him back to the safety of his tree. I’m always amazed at how high my little dachshund can jump.

The mug shave this morning featured my Victor Creazzi Shorty 7/8. I really love the edges delivered on my Creazzi razors. They are both nicely sharp and were delivered with buttery smooth edges. I particularly like this short bladed straight because of the easy versatility it offers. It’s highly maneuverable and allows ready access to some of the more challenging neck stubble. Two and a half passes and all was right with the world.

As is probably obvious from my prior SOTD photos, I’m really enjoying my noggin shaves with the five Durham Enders Speed Shaver/Razors NOW in my collection. The adapter takes all the fiddling out of the equation and is highly superior to the earlier shimmed Enders blade technique. The magnetic adapter allows for perfect positioning of the Proline B-20 injector blade and consistently delivers the two pass ATG shaves I enjoy on the dome as it did this morning. How nice to be velveteen smooth from neck to noggin!

RAZOR: Victor Creazzi Shorty 7/8 (Mug), Durham Enders Speed Shaver (Dome)
BLADE: Schick Proline B-20 Injector (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE #007 Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys WH. Finished with PAA Rabid Banana Star Jelly AS Balm.

    Great shave, Jeff!

Over here the temp is currently 53.6°F. Doesn't go up anymore today, but it feels warm after the winter!

Need to understand that each soap is different when loading the brush. Look at the quality and quantity of the load and see if you need more soap. You have a habit of having a cookie cutter approach when it comes to loading the brush. My mantra is when you think you have enough, you don't. Keep at it until you do have enough.

I am surprised at how close this Flatboy gets me! It has moved to the head of the pack! LOL

I guess that's why many brushes look like ice-cream cones(in the videos). MWF definitely requires the "ice-cream cone" brush. Thanks.

I like to blend shave cream with shave soap. Good results so far. The lavender cream mixed with Sherlock was nice! It makes the routine more fun. I am a "Mad Scientist" LOL

I will be shaving this evening at about 8 pm
Haven't decided what soap I will be using, but my Dovo Shavette will definitely be part of the equation. I am thinking of using Cella or Cryogen. Who knows? I may change my mind and use another soap. I still have time to think about it.

While on Ebay, I found a 1970 Tech so, I grabbed it for chump change. It looks to be in good shape. I keep seeing the Techs here. Once the weather gets nice, I am going to ride the bike around to yard sales and flea markets in search of more trinkets.

I’m amazed in this hobby how many old products come back, Daniel! I used to use Skin Bracer myself, back in the 60’s and 70’s. Great menthol shave!

understood, Daniel, but it’s unseasonably cooler this year. Normally we’re in the high 70’s or low 80’s.
