Now that The Palmolive shave stick is discontinued, are there any users her that can recommend a similar scented shave soap? Doesn’t necessarily have to be a stick, could be a puck or even a cream. Just something with that same glorious type scent.

Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream, Belgian. Same glorious type scent. Not identical, just sweeter.

Quite a bit different from Palmolive though. And it seems like maybe this one has been discontinued too? I haven't seen it for sale lately at least. It is too bad. It's probably my favorite stick.

Connaught's had it for sale in two stick packs not too long ago.

Yeah, maybe a year ago. They haven't had it in a while now though. Nobody else seems to either.

Wilkinson Sword Soap Stick. One soap I will not regret being discontinued.
I am currently struggling with one being in my travel kit. Arrived home today and the first thing I did was to load another Tabac refill in the tube. Tabac tallow, what a treat.

The Nivea stick is quite slick, and has a soapy scent.

Why didn't the Wilkinson's Soap Stick work for you. Tabac is awesome soap too.

It has zero residual slickness. The lather looks good but not slick enough for me. I was surprised since this is a tallow soap and has lanolin as well.

Sound's like you didn't have enough soap applied. I alway's primed my brush on the stick along with rubbing the stick on my wet face. An old-timer told me about the benefits of priming my brush when using a shave stick. He was amazed that I shaved that way.

You are right. Loading more soap was the fix. The lather looks luxurious and the slickness improved quite a bit. Thanks for the tip.
This is an old soap, maybe 8-9 years old, and that could be a factor as it was pretty dry.

  17. I had a stick of the palmolive once, it smelled like irish spring soap.. was mine off?

No, that's what it smells like to me too. It's the standard Palmolive scent for the creams, or soaps. I'm enjoying a tube of the cream right now.
