Nothing beats a Thistle shave! That NYS steel can take an amazingly sharp edge. My son, Ben, has acquired one as well after shaving with my little Thistle Shorty! Enjoy your day. I’ll be honing a couple of razors this afternoon for one of my old hunting buddies.

I agree. However, I told the principal that I view shaving with a straight a historical lesson for the kids to be exposed to how men shaved in the early 20th century. The problem was that I encouraged middle schoolers to go on my site. I said that they were going on the site whether I encouraged them or not because they are tech savvy. Also, maybe some parents may have thought that I may slip in some mature content. However, I still have some of the students asking if I still do shaving videos. Lol! Who knows? Maybe when they reach adulthood they may go into wetshaving because of my videos.

Lol! Thanks Jeff! I have seen videos of shavers using cleaver. I will paws on that idea. I am open to shaving with a 14/8 ( 1 and 3/4 inches wide) if some artisan dares to make one. However, a 14/8 straight would be my limit.

I think we have all done this. The way I learned never to do it again, was to focus keeping the blade "moving" at the start of the stroke. Especially with the DX!.
Practice your stroke without a blade in the razor.
