Fabulous shave this morning, Gary! Lightness of touch is the key to great wet shaves! Glad it went well! :happy088:

Glad you’re enjoying the R41, Daniel. A few years ago we were all joking about shark blades and poor technique. As I remember we had a “Shark Attack” week in which we all shaved with those blades! Lots of fun! Enjoy your day!

Paul has inferred that he has some dexterity issues and that loading a blade into the Twig or Leaf may still be a problem because you have to bend the DE blades in half and still manipulate it onto the razor. The magnetized head would be a help, Also, the razor is 85 US dollars and that is a lot of scratch for someone on a limited income. I think if Paul wants to use a DE, then a magnet would help him load the blade without too much manipulation. I have suggested this solution in the past to him. I just don't want the guy to continue to have ingrown hair issues that can be easily fixed.

    Awesome shave, Jeff!
Thanks! That sounds like a lot of fun indeed!
Well damn, I didn't even realize the Twig is that expensive. I certainly wouldn't try one for that price then. Your suggestion is much better than mine.

And yes, of course the main thing is to stop suffering from ingrown hairs, not to get everyone to hoard razors. I was just thinking of the Twig because it looks remotely similar to a disposable (less learning curve perhaps?) and has only one blade. But at that cost, yeah, no.

If the DE doesn't work out, and I really hope it will, I would then consider the single blade disposables.

I just went on the Leaf website. The Leaf is 84 dollars and the Twig is 59 dollars. Still, 60 dollars is steep for someone on limited income.

The problem wasn't in handling the blade, it was the placement of it inside the razor. Yes, I sill have it...it's a bit dirty these days-I'll get it cleaned.

    Bic Chrome Platinum blade (4).

Awesome shave this morning but the Bic has reached its end.

    Happy Thursday everyone!

It certainly is steep, so not the best idea to try one.

I think that trying the already existing DE would be better, as you said, because that makes the most sense financially and otherwise too.

Not recommending anything, but I'm curious if injectors would be easier to operate. I have never handled one, so I don't know.

What kind of razor is it, if you don't mind me asking? Some can be trickier to load than others.

That's the same as loading the razor.

Injector's are easier, but it's difficult to get a decent vintage razor for a decent price nowadays. Also, Injector blades are way more expensive per blade than DE's. You can get a 100 blades for 10 to 15 dollars while Schicks were 7 dollars for 6 blades. Pellas were 5 dollars for 20, but I found them subpar.
