The Model T:s look great too, and I'm glad that they are performing well for you!

I'm a bit curious about the 6S actually. I've been thinking about purchasing a closed comb stainless razor, and the 6S, Game Changer and a Mühle Rocca are the options I've been looking at. I'll have to consider it for a few months and do a lot of research, because none of those are exactly cheap over here (all should be good value though).

SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, MAY 15, 2022

SWMBO and I are off to meet our new Pastor in church this morning after almost three years of interim ministers. I mostly haven’t been attending due to both the plague and lack of interest. The new guy looks pretty good! We’ll see how he preaches.

Good mug shave this morning featuring my Frederick Reynolds rattler grind. This old razor had patina! I’ve been tempted over the years of ownership to send it off for rescaling, but the old original horn scales are well worn indicating generations of faithful use.

I feel like a caretaker for my vintage straights, and part of that involves upgrading when necessary! It’s definitely not necessary in this case. The three pass shave alone gave testimony to that fact leaving yours truly very smooth!

The noggin shave featured my first modern artisan safety razor. This razor with the OC F Plate is amazingly efficient, and is one of those razors with which I always enjoy shaving the dome. Unfortunately, like many of us who share this hobby,

I’ve accumulated a wealth of great-shaving efficient razors! Not really a problem, but more a conundrum! What safety razor to shave the noggin with each day! In any case, two ATG passes left me porcelain smooth from neck to noggin!

RAZOR: Frederick Reynolds Rattler 5/8 (Mug), Karve Safety Razor w/ OC_F_Plate (Dome)
    BLADE: Polsilver DE (Dome)
    BRUSH: MrEE Monster Tuxedo Synth
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys WH. Finished with Royall Lyme AS/Cologne.

I wanted to do a GC JAWS shave, so that is exactly what I did. Sauna as prep, and the shave was excellent.

I mixed up some Aqua Velva and Skin Bracer in my palm and the combination seems to work quite well.

    Have a great day, gentlemen!

Hope everyone is doing well, been enjoying this weekend with a friend of mine. My first time coming up to Virginia to visit my buddy I’ve known since bootcamp just outside of Fishersville, Virginia. This little mountain town is absolutely beautiful here. Been spending some time with him and his Girlfriend’s family, they remind me a lot like my family, very welcoming and won’t let you leave without a full belly just like any good southern family lol. It’s a small, quiet town but very scenic as well. [IMG]

    That looks and sounds fantastic!

Reminds me a bit of when I was in northern Finland with my friend, and we stayed a few nights with his sisters friend. And we visited some of their friends as well. Very welcoming people, always offering food, they heated up the sauna without even asking etc.

Fun fact, they had a dog that was actually half wolf and half husky. One of the friendliest dogs I've ever seen!
