good morning gents.fabulous shave this morning with no lather issues.new sc was excellent, very smooth but efficient.i have 2 of these fine razors, one being the survivor of a badly corroded new Somerset set.

this case was badly pinholed and the handle beyond replating.thankfully the head survived any issues and i use it with my french tech thin handle.
lovely slick lather and fine platinum aftershave to finish.awesome.

Good shave this morning. There was some "negative action" involved, though. What do I mean by "negative action". 3 large polkadots in a triangle shape at S. Cactus, a Knick at N. Cactus, and a couple Knicks at Porcupine. The cheeks&sideburns are great, but I'm afraid those were my most successful areas-well,, most of Porcupine came out all right. . I really wanted to do great, as I had great products(CTS Grandpa's Barbershop soap and Clubman A.S.)., but it was not to be.I think I "experimented" too much down at Cactus, which led to the "triangle of doom". No blood, at least. 2 passes, and I probably should have stopped after the first. With the Clubman, I smell great-I just wish I would have shaved better to accompany that Clubman scent. Today was A Little Bit Excellent.

I wish I could have liked Stoylin Gentleman better. I don't HATE it, it just didn't appeal to me-the tobacco was too strong.

Have you tried "Sherlock". It has a nice tobacco, pepper, leather scent with a bit of old books as well.

That picture reminds me, I'll have to try the carbon steel Treets (black beauties and falcons) in my Mühles..

I had the Sherlock aftershave once and liked it very much. May well get it again sometime. I wonder if I can "bundle" the soap and A.S.

I really like those blades. I have so many other brand blades to use that I have not shaved with a Feather blade in any of my DE razors in a while! But, I am trying to get proficient with the shavette so I can try out one of my straights! I am getting better and now get so close I don't have to shave for 2 days!

I wouldn't worry to much about the square pt on the second razor because it is muted. In other words, the tip is not pointy. I would not suggest that you shave with an unmuted or spike point at this time.

I have CF Cryogen SS and AS so it stands to reason that you should be able to bundle CF Sherlock.

I know it will be a while yet but, I am anxious to use them. The width of the blade is comparable to the DX on both. The Gold Dollar is wider at 6/8 so, I will wait on that one but, it's a good practice one for stropping and honing. The last 2 raozors will be here Friday according to tracking. A Puma and a Zebra. Both look like new in photos but I know are vintage. Well cared for razors. These are both 5/8 razors. I am anxious to see the Puma! Rosewood coffin case. I paid a little more for this one but still less than I saw other Puma razors going for. Some are crazy high! I have read that Puma is highly prized german made steel.

The Puma does have a great reputation, but the asking prices are ridiculous just like the Filarmonica razors. I have never heard of Zebras so I can't comment on them.

I still paid less than the price of a new Dovo. I saw some going for rediculous prices that I would not touch. Then I ran across this one with opening bid of $10 so, I jumped and kept my bids lower than the crazy ones. I was shocked that I won it! Altho, someone did try to steal it from me towards the end. I really thought i would lose that Puma.

They are great, I like carbon steel blades. I wouldn't use them every day, but as an occasional treet (;)) they are fantastic.

Now that's too close of a shave, lol! But more seriously, I'm glad your journey with open blades is going well!
