Classified thread locked?

    I posted a classified ad (wtt). Why is the thread locked so that I can’t edit the title or the listing?

    You have to "report" the listing and explain what you need done to it so a moderator can change the listing.

    Since it isn't spelled out in the rules, the reasoning behind not leaving the thread open for replies was to discourage people posting replies negatively regarding price or condition. It's been in place for about 15 years now I think? I preferred the open reply format, myself, but I understand the reasoning behind the change.

    That, and preserving prices and changes for posterity and research as many times, after something sold a seller would delete the price and just replace it with a note that it was sold or no longer for sale, or delete an item totally.
