    Hi all!
Decided to get out my R41 to see if I could get a nice shave today.
I bought it years ago and didn't like the way it shaved.
I did a 30 day run with it then, after that it was better but uncomfortable.
I always get a close shave but never a comfortable shave wit it.
It's been in the drawer for well over a year, Maybe 2 years.
Today however I decided to get a comfortable shave with it.
So I rode the cap like a madmen on a mission, and I was, on a mission.

I am both humbled and pleased to say that I got both a comfortable and close shave.
Both head and face 2 passes each.
A brand new Feather blade as always.
Running the razor with the confidence of a crazy skydiver jumping out of a perfectly good airplane in flight.
No burn, cuts, nicks or any other of those nasty things.
I can now say it's a good razor that won't stay in the drawer as much anymore.

    All
    Enjoy

Excellent progress. You can still get 2 pass BBS or near BBS shave with a mild razor, but you have to do some buffing.

Great setup, pic and shave Terry. Sometimes, it is a good thing to return to a razor that gave us trouble because 9x out of ten it leads to a better shave experience. I firmly believe that with more experience and subsequently a better technique were the main factors for the razor to be good performer.

Thank you Joe....I'll have a Stoylin soap out for my next two shaves-betting THAT will "clean up" what I missed today down at Cactus.

Wonderful Memorial Day shave. The weather is gorgeous too boot. Finally feels a bit like Summer although short live as by Wednesday the temperatures will be 25 degrees cooler.

Hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day.

It's hard for me to believe now that I was fearful of using a Feather blade in my R41. It's the main blade I use in mine now. I am sold on the Feather blades as well as the Feather DX. "I can shave with a Feather!"

I do still like and use other blades as well like pretty much every Egypt made blade I have tried (Shark is one that comes to mind) But, I liked the Feathers so much, I bought a 100 pack! :happy088:

I have been tempted to get me one of them GEM razors. How hard are the blades to get?

    Nice setup Joe!

You can GEM SE blades on line. my Rite-Aid pharmacy carries unbranded SE GEM type blades, but I have never bought them.

    Great!!
I like feather blades in all my DE and half DE razors.
I also like the super pros in in my artist razors.
    The B20's for my injectors.
The Pesonna GEM for my GEM style razors.
I got 5 or 6 hundred other blades, but I prefer Feathers in the DE's.

I was afraid if feathers for a while too.
But after I got my technique down, it's all I use.
I buy my blades in bulk to save money.
I use one blade then bin the blade.
Except for the Feather Super Professional blades, I get 2 full shaves from them.
I shave both head and face every morning including weekends.
So I go through a lot of blades.

Nice to have another feather shaver around.

    Edit.....
    My favorite blades stash....
