I really don’t accord much weight to his opinions! Thanks, looking forward to it!

Saturday morning June 4 -- MWF June now...

Razor: Supply matte black 2.0 injector with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (4)
Brush: Semogue Owners Club (SOC) cherrywood handle refitted with 24mm Tuxedo synthetic knot
Soap: MWF in Kent beechwood bowl
Post: Alum, Thayers alcohol-free witch hazel, Osage Rub

First, I would like to thank Trigger for the great monthly intro. Truly excellent! I will have no problem with the "2 consecutive days" plan for gear, because I am still trying to deep six the remaining shards of my ancient MWF puck. Wonderful soap, but this one sure has been hanging around for awhile... Also, I will probably continue to use just two razors -- my Supply injector and my Henson Medium DE.

I see by my notes (another reason to do this 30DC thing) that my last shave was very late on Sunday night so I had a five-day-and-a-few-hours stubble to hack down. I washed thoroughly with soap and hot water first, to soften the hayfield as much as possible. If I don't, I find the blade (whatever blade I am using) has a much more noticeable tendency to tug.

The SOC Tuxedo did its usual excellent job of face lathering the MWF. This brush started as the Semogue SOC two-band badger. The cherrywood handle was lovely, but I found the original knot to be a total disappointment. The badger seemed thinly packed compared to others and felt too floppy as a result. Plus it shed hairs. So Jason @jtspartan very kindly drilled it out for me and installed my replacement Tuxedo knot (from APShaveCo). It's now one of my favourite brushes.

The new Supply SE injector has a comb that Supply claims makes it nick-free, even for new shavers or recent converts from multi-blade cartridge razors. From my experience, the claim is valid. I made two rapid and relatively carefree or even downright careless passes, first WTG and then XTG. I went from hayfield to virtually BBS in less than two minutes. No blood, no razorburn, and the alum was totally silent.

At least one user has said that the new Black Label blades do start out sharp but degrade very quickly. On its fourth outing, this one was perfectly sharp, even when confronting dense stubble...

I ended with a probably unnecessary spritz of witch hazel. I have been trying a Thayers bottle with a spritz cap rather than the more common pouring top. I find I like it -- instead of a palmful of witch hazel putting a heavy splash everywhere, the spray top puts a light misting of witch hazel on my skin, which is all that is really needed. I then finished everything off with a dash of Osage Rub for that icy cold tingle that works better than an IV of caffeine as a morning wake-up.

Great shave, Barry! I think the Supply injectors are some of the best out there.

Great shave! Enjoy the week on the road with your newly fixed TR6 (and your wife, of course).

Probably NOT a delusional statement. Shaving my beard a few years ago knocked about a decade off my apparent age. Cashiers quit offering me the Senior's Discount...

Great shave, Gary! And I also agree about the Castle Forbes. I tried a sample a few years ago. Good stuff and I really like lavender scent. But I could get the same scent and performance for half the price from either TOOBS Lavender cream or from our own TSD shop's lavender-scented lanolin soap...

A fine shave this morning. The aftershave I chose was Mennen Skin Bracer(recall the "TBA"). It's nice to see the Lime Burst making prOHgress finally, but I think it will hit bottom with chunks of fans still left in the "stadium". I knew right away as I was doing the first pass that I would NEED to do the second(I wonder how many of you shavers NEED that second pass rather than do it for fun). I was leaving too much at the first. Second was fine HOWEVER, a cut developed at my upper lip. Not TERRIBLE, but it was enough to stop my shaving for a minute to say "How did I GET that??". It was at the beginning of doing North Porcupine. I proceded on, but this time I did better on the right side than left(latter is where the cut happened). Cuts can throw me off stride. The rest was fine, no problems anywhere else. The aforementioned Skin Bracer had a nice feel and scent has I worked it all around my face and neck. Closed out with Passion 4 Men cologne. Very Excellent due to that lip cut.

On the contrary. I think Baume.Be is one of the best creams available.

So "All are welcome", except me and my opinion. Is that it?

Well, I got my shave and it was a most pleasant shave! The new to me razor from 1930's shaves very nice! CLOSE too! No bad reports today. Nice and close, no irritation from the alum bar, and no nicks, cuts, or errors. The Bay Rum soap is very pleasant to use and the Bay Rum AS is nice!

I did a 3-pass shave just because it was so nice. I did a face and dome washingnwith brush squeezings and the remainder of the soap in the lather bowl and did a single pass on my dome. This is one of the nicest razors I have.

The LONG comb open comb razor got my jawline and mustache area silky smooth with little effort!

That old razor came with some old Gillette Blue blades too. The case is very nice! Very compact!

Now, I need to figure out what pairing to do tomorrow!

I still get the senior discount even with my freshly shaven face and dome. Lol!

Thanks for the correction. Apparently, I was mistaken. Now, that I have pondered it some more, I think it was Murphy and McNeil that was the soap that you didn't like so much.

Nice shave Paul. I can get a socially acceptable shave on one pass, but I do at least 2 to give me a near BBS or BBS shave. If I do just one pass, then I need to shave every day. I don't have a problem with it, but I look nicer with a 2 pass shave.
