Yes, it is quite the shock, but I have been thinking about the Vector for quite a while. I took the plunge and do not regret it (although I have put several DE razors up for sale to recover the cost). The RR Hawk might be worth looking at as I hear it is a good AC razor at a much lower cost.

I am beginning to think that single edge razors are working better for me than double edge. I have two classic Schick injectors, the G and J, and they are wonderful single edge razors (and quite comfortably affordable). GEM razors look so cool, and I bet they are fun to use. I just can't take on yet another blade type!

It is a nice looking razor. Stainless too! RazoRock Hawk Standard with HD handle

Thanks, Joe! I'll be around as much as I can.

Btw, great introduction post and thanks for the shout!

    Have a great day!
Mühle makes some excellent razors! The R89 would definetly benefit from a sharper blade. I prefer the R41 tho.
    Thanks, Gary!
    Thank you, Joe!

Well, I know the razor that I will be using tomorrow. It's not the Mühle R41 or the Gillette Fatboy. It's going to be my Gillette Redtip. I will be using a Gillette 7'o'clock Perma-Sharp blade.

June Focus Shave -- Monday Evening Edition

    Razor: Blackbird Vector (SS)
    Blade: Feather Professional
    Soap: Stirling Barbershop
    A/S: Skin Bracer

Beautifully efficient 2-passer this evening. The scent combo is old school cool. My real goal is to have a 'stache like the cartoon barber's.

I am sure it will be. I just need to make my lather thicker and to be focused instead of being on autopilot mode.

That's a great setup and shave Eric. I guess you would have to get mustache wax to curl the ends. It would be great if you sang in a barbershop quartet, then you would fit right in the group. Of course, this assumes that you can sing harmony and there is a barbershop quartet in need of a singer near you.
