And the top. I have my nicest Gillettes there and the Feather DX as well as all of my straights! I may need a bigger room! :happy102:

I have heard very good things about the Hawk and and glad you are having immediate success with it! Down the line I may pick one up in aluminum to give it a try. I am very much looking forward to your GEM experiences.

You definitely ride the cap with the Hawk and I expect the same with the GEM. It was so easy for me to find the correct angle. I think it's about 20 degrees. Very comfy shave.

very cool.i did the "matching set" stuff for a bit.all my stuff now is season oriented,citrus,aqua/spring, summer and tobacco, leather, woods/fall winter.oddball stuff is gone.exceptions being ghost town barber and the dead sea sets.tabac i just use when around the house.;)soap is fantastic, scent too floral for me in public.as for pre shave-proraso in all flavors, though i don't use it too often any more.:).i gave a lot of stuff to my friend who started using his dad's flaretip after a 40 year binge with cart razors.he suddenly acquired a "collection";).have fun with your new hobby.

    SRS # 704 - Gemini Shave

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Taylor Eyewitness 1000
    Brush: Purple Haze Badger
    Lather: Catie’s Bubbles Vintage
    Aftershave: Catie’s Bubbles Vintage
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Another wonderfully close shave with the Taylor Eyewitness 1000. Additionally, I get the opportunity to enjoy the scent of the Vintage soap and splash for another day.

My day will be full of working on my culinary talents as I prepare for Anthony’s Birthday party with the family. He has given me list of items he wants included on the menu. Some of his selections are as follows:
    1. Mexican theme with a variety of tacos
    a). Beef b) Turkey c) Kaluha Pig
    2. Pasta: Penne alla Vodka & Buttered pasta
    3. Appetizers:
Chicken Wings: his selection: mild Buffalo sauce. His mother’s selection: Nashville Hot Wings
Egg Rolls: Disney’s 50th Pastrami and Cheese
    4. Pastrami: Just went in the smoker at 11:30 this morning. Projected time to completion: 9:00 AM tomorrow morning.
    5. Chicken Marsala: for those such as my mother who can not tolerate spicy foods.
    6. Morimoto Asia’s Hot Sticky Spare Ribs.
    7. Scrimp Scampi

Now that I made you hungry, I hope you all have a nice day gentlemen.

Here is the Pastrami at the beginning of the smoke process. If I can remember to do so tomorrow I will post the finished product.

I think I am good on razors unless I decide to try one of the Schick Injectors.
I do like the Feather Artist Club blades and now have the perfect razor for them with the Hawk v3
It really tamed the blades I have used so far.

Just as it says on the label with pepper being the first thing that hit my nose. Old books in the library. Leather. I really like the scent.

Excellent razor acquisition Hogie. I have the GEM Feather as well. Great little shaver. Additionally, I have the T2 which delivers a wonderful lather every time I use it.

i wouldn't purchase any more gillettes if you are enjoying the SE stuff.my collection wasn't solely based on shave quality.i wanted the british gillette basics in remembrance to my grandfather.stuff he had or could of had during the 1930s to 50s.he was a loyal gillette man.the sets i have left are all british with a couple of exceptions.the 1940s stuff is my favorite shave wise both open comb and safety bar.gillettes golden era.:)
