Thanks Terry! I was a little careful because their blades aren't coated.

My only regret is that I wished that I had started wetshaving and use traditional razors much earlier in my life.

myself as well.i wasn't on a computer until 2013 or so and that was very limited.parts ordering and such.a little exploration got me here..i can still count friends who wet shave on one hand, not including my friends here on the forum.:)

When I started shaving in my teens, I used my dad's safety razor. Unfortunately, I found the disposable carts to shave my face. I didn't start using a traditional razor (DE) until I was 61-62. I was walking into a Walmart and I happen to see a Van der Hagen TTO DE. It was at that moment I remembered my initial shaving days with a safety so I bought the razor. I didn't have a problem shaving with it from day one. I didn't know about shaving forums or even thinking about shaving with a straight or a shavette until two years later. Alas, the rest is history.

Today is a no shave day, but tomorrow I will be using one of my cleavers.

I wish I could recall what razor I used back in 1975? It was most likely a Gillette TTO

I would have to say it probably was a Gillette DE as well. I believe I was 16.

I was 19 in 1975. Here I am in Ft Eustis Va learning to repair airplanes in about Sept 1975. I had hair!

I worked on these Beechcraft Twin Bonanzas

    Greetings,

    (Face & head Shave.)

( Vintage SE Razor & Birthday presents Week.)

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend...carry on with with another vintage SE razor week. Starting with the Gem Micromatic OC...Like all my other vintage SE razors my shaving angle is almost sliding flat against the skin using short strokes with each pass..It does take a few shave's to adjust using vintage SE razors, but it's well worth the effort to do so.

What i like about vintage SE & injector razors is the rigid stability & thickness of the blades which helps to eliminate blade chatter, and gives wonderful audio feedback whilst shaving.
The Gem Micromatic OC is the most efficient of all my vintage SE razors that mows down my face and stubble with effortless ease...However as with any razor i have mentioned in many of my posting's, regardless if it's aggressive or non-aggressive, respect good technique, shaving confidence, & near-no pressure is essential.

The Erasmic Shave cream, P&G Old Spice Hawkridge ASL is one of two bottle's, along with two Milton Lloyd EDT sprays. i got as birthday present's from family and friends..The O.S. Hawkridge ASL has a musky spice scent which paired together with the mild scented Erasmic Shave cream very nicely.

Another close comfortable face & head shave with errors to report....Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face and precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.
