I am simply amazed at how nice these vintage razors shave! The 1912 Star was a VERY pleasant shave. This razor has some weight to it so, no pressure was used at all. I learned from yesterday's shave. This little razor will stay in the rotation. I love the feedback you get from this razor. You can hear each whisker surrender to the blade!
I did a 3-pass shave and got BBS face. No irritation at all. You do have to pay attention to what you are doing with this razor. I did a WTG, ATG, XTG shave.
Washed face and did the hot washcloth thing to soften the beard.
The Chiseled Face "Ghost Town Barber" is nice and slick. I had a tad too much water so, I added a dab of TOBS "Almond" cream to the soap. VERY NICE!
I used the last of the TOBS Herbal Gel pre-shave. I still have 1 left but, I won't buy again. This soap lathers very easily. I will buy again when this one is gone.
Alum bar raise no feedback and left the face smooth. Washed face again with the last of the lather from the bowl and the brush. Let it sit on my face while I washed all the tools of the shave. Wiped razor and blade and stored til tomorrow. I will use this razor again tomorrow. How many shaves can I expect from one stainless blade?
Dab of Proraso balm and a splash of Captain's Choice "Italia". I have found another keeper with this razor.
I hope all have as nice a shave today!
