    Good Evening

    Rockwell 6C (setting 4)
Gillette Winner Special Platinum DE Blade (1)
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
    Cella SS
    Old Spice AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

    20220613_171741.jpg
This shave had a couple of firsts. The first one is that I used plate #4 because I finally realize that I don't need to go to a maximum setting on a 24 hr growth. It took me 5-6 yrs of using a DE to realize it. Lol. Moreover, thus is the very first time that I ever used the Gillette Winner blade.

I picked Cella and the Pro 49 brush just to keep a bit of the old-fashioned flair of the shave. It's kind of difficult to do when I am using a modern razor. Lol
Anyway, I achieved a near perfect BBS shave. It would have been perfect if it wasn't for 2 microdots of blood. Personally, they were so tiny that they didn't deserve to be mentioned, but I believe in full accountability. Lol!
Did my normal postshave routine. There wasn't any alum stinging or singing. Refreshed ny face with the witch hazel and the Old Slice aftershave.
What did I learn about this shave? I learned that setting 4 on the Rockwell 6C is quite efficient on my 1 day growth and will continue to use it for just that amount of growth. I would venture that the Rockwell 6C would be a daily shaver on setting 4. Also, it does pay to get out of my comfort zone. Have a great evening.

June 2022 30/30 shave -- Monday Evening Shave

Razor: Muhle R41 head; Gillette Heritage handle
    Blade: vintage Schick SS Krona
    Brush: Yaqi badger
    Soap: Martim de Candre original
    A/S: La Toja

Continuing the smooth vintage Schick blade in aggressive/efficient razors. Close shave tonight. @Trigger I get it when you say you would never spend the coin on Martin de Candre. I was fortunate to purchase one used at half price. The soap is so hard, and requires so very few swirls (less than 10) to produce tons of lather, MdC might just beat out many other soaps for lowest price per use.

Excellent shave Eric! I get that triple-milled soaps like MdC last a very long time and that the value is there. However, I can get 5 different soaps with different individual scents for a full cannister of MdC. I rather have variety. I know that I am repeating myself, but I would never tell anyone how to spend their money on shaving products. We all come from different backgrounds and thus our preferences will be different. Enjoy your evening.

Superb shave Paul. You can always scoop out an almond size amount of soap and press it into a bowl so you can use your larger brush.

Thanks Joe. I will use the Rockwell 6C tomorrow for an all above-the-shoulder shave tomorrow. I am leaning towards using Arko soap. and Clubman Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. Haven't yet decided on the brush.

Monday June 13, 2022 - Just Shaving June

Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black injector with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (6)
Brush: APShaveCo Elegant Emerald w/ APLuxury 24mm mixed badger/boar knot
Soap: TOOBS Lavender Shaving Cream "croap"
After: Alum and TSD Lavender Shave Milk

    IMG_20220613_215452.jpg

My first shave since about Thursday, so several days stubble.

I had an almost unused tub of TOOBS Lavender Shave Cream that sat for several years with the lid apparently not tightened down enough. When I opened it, three quarters of the contents had evaporated, leaving the tub one quarter filled with a firm croap. The lovely lavender smell remained strong though. I find that this particular make of cream continues to work well even when dried out -- a few swirls in the tub load the brush and the result face lathers much the same as before and is still slick and protective. So the cream drying out is not a disaster; I just have one fewer creams and one more "soap".

The razor did its usual fine job with two passes, one WTG on the face and ATG on my neck, then the second pass XTG everywhere. The Black Label blade is still sharp on its 6th outing - no degradation noted yet.

Nothing much of note from the alum. I finished with The Shave Den shop's Lavender "milk" aftershave balm. Very soothing.

Next shave, I will probably return to trying to kill off the shards of my old MWF puck

Great shave John. I like lavender scented soaps, but never tried TOBS.
