I have a new GEM Micromatic to try as well. This one is open comb as well. Also have a Golden Bullet Micromatic coming. I like the loud feedback these give. I still need to try the GEM Featherweight again. My first shave with it was not as good as the other single edge razors.

Now, it's on to using some of my DE razors again. Maybe the "Flatboy" tomorrow...

 

One other single edge I would like to find is what they call the Lather Catcher. For now, I am shocked at the prices I see for them tho! Nice looking razor. I think it is an Ever Ready.

Later post as I am taking a break from splitting firewood for the upcoming season. We have a gorgeous afternoon with comfortable temperatures. As a result the task is not to burdensome.

The morning’s shave featured Andrey’s custom Kamosori which I picked up from him just before the shenanigans started in the Urkraine. I am happy to say that the razor is now dialed in after only five shaves. I received a super smooth, comfortable and irritation free shave. With each shave the blade is becoming more comfortable in my hand. I will look forward to tomorrow’s shave with this razor.

The WSP Blackbeard soap has the following scent profile: “To create Blackbeard, we started with tobacco, then added some cherry, vanilla, patchouli, cloves, and other spices.” I picked up a sample of this soap several years ago. The sample pick has three more shaves left which I plan to finish up this week. I will have managed to receive 20 shaves from the sample. Not to shabby if I do say so myself. Down the road I can see myself picking up another sample. No need for the larger tub as I need to continue to strive to diminish the number of soaps in the den.

I will do the same here once the bugs die back some. Right now there are some nasty ones in my woods! Deer flies and Horseflies. As well as the nasty little black flies. I have a few blocks I could split but will wait til the pile is bigger. With what petroleum prices will be this coming winter, I best fill the woodshed! I may be back to heating this house with the woodstove. I put in a propane boiler back in 2018 but, before that I burned the wood in a free-standing woodstove. Lopi Liberty stove
