June 14 SOTA Dome and Face Shave

    Good afternoon

    20220614_160157.jpg

    Rockwell 6C (setting 4)
Gillette Winner Super Platinum DE Blade (2)
    Rockwell Synthetic
    Arko SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 22.5 hrs
    Dome Growth: 2 days

I just love Arko for the slickness it provides. My shaves with this soap is always excellent. It smells like Ivory Soap after so many uses although I liked the original lemon scent. Admittedly, shavers like it or they don't so it is definitely your mileage may vary thing.

This is only the second time that I have ever used this blade brand and the setting 4 on the razor, but it is the first time I used this setting for a headshave. I have to say the dome and the face shave was simply wonderful. Three passes plus pickups on the dome and 2 passes on the face without pickups gave me BBS results.
Did get some alum feedback on my nape and neck, but it wasn't volcanic. Witch hazel and the fine Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave was a great finish to the shaves. Enjoy your evening.

    June 2020 30/30 -- Tuesday Edition

    Razor: Tatara Muramasa
    Blade: vintage Schick
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Cities from Space
    Soap: B&M Cool
    A/S: Aqua Velva

Nicked the back of my head and had weepers appear on the face this evening. Not sure what's up. Hoping for a better result tomorrow.

Lather catcher's are very pleasing to the eye, but not so to your wallet!..I also would like to add one to my humble vintage SE razor collection. The kampfe/Gem-star with the antique lather catching basket, all look wonderful...We both maybe lucky one day and stumble across one at a reasonable price...Until then I'm content to enjoy my ER's & Gem's. Out of all my SE razors,my injector's,win hand's down, purely because they are such comfortable razors to shave with. The modern supply V2, is outstanding...

It's still a nice shave, and setup Eric. The Muramasa is a nice razor. Maybe you went too quickly to finish the shave that caused the errors?

I saw one for $30 and should have grabbed it! I now see them for $80 and up! I too have discovered single edge razors and love them! My favorite modern one is the Razorock "Hawk v3". I have the Standard in stainless and have the open comb base plate arriving this week. I could shave with the Hawk every day. It really tames the Feather Professional blades.

I have dentist appointment today. Cleaning...

I will have to shave and get running! Going to ride the Harley to the appointment to save on gas and just may got to the italian restaurant for some good food and to look at that cute waitress. It will be a nice ride. Weather crapping out tomorrow.

Will post shave later or simply wait til tomorrow. Nobody is learning anything from my shaves. (Heck, I am still learning myself!) And you guys are all better with the setup photos. I may quit posting and simply comment on other's posts. Some great setup photos and stories. I have zero...

I am glad you had a nice trip. It's nice to get away to break up the monotony. I wish I still had my TR4. My toy is my Harley. I am going for a ride today. I have discovered single edge razors now, Jeff. I really like the Razorock "Hawk v3" It really tames the Professional blades. I was going to pick up the DX today but, I have dentist appointment and don't want to cut myself before that! I am getting better with the DX and maybe could shave with no errors but, it has been a week so, I may have a slip-up! I want to try the shavette you sent me again too with a light blade.

I am at a point where I have too many choices and all are good ones!

    LOL

    Thanks, Joe!

I really like this new hobby. I am not one who frequents online forums. This is the only one I have tried. I do have GAB basically for the fans of my cat. They have a nice cat lover's group there. They also have a wet shaving group and one for Harley Davidson. I am about the only one who posts in the Wet Shaving group. Someone else started it and then stopped posting. So, I post some there and have mentioned this site as well. No twitter, Facebook, or anything else. Many pros at this game who prey on newbies. Trolls....they take the fun out of this.

I used the Flatboy today. VERY aggressive razor! 3rd use of the Permasharp blade and it's time to bin it! I plan on using all of my GEM, Star, &SE razors next week to compare them to each other. Lavender cream was nice today. I did not take any pics tho...
