Both excellent shaves Daniel. Keeping busy make the day fly by and brings you closer to the next shave. All good.

    SRS # 706

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Andrey Shpakovskiy 8/8 Half+ “Hanabira” Kamosori
    Brush: Jayaruh 381 Badger/Boar
    Lather: WSP Blackbeard (Rustic)
    Aftershave: Hub City Pipe Dreams
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Another fabulous shave with this set up. The only difference in today’s shave was the volume of lather the brush created. The brush was a little wetter than usual which caused the lather to exploded by time time I managed to get rid of the tiny air bubbles. The amount of lather produced would have been enough for two shaves. The amount of soap pressed into the bowl was comparably the same as yesterday’s shave. The x-factor was the amount of water. The lather was slick and protective. The rest of the shave was right on point.

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, JUNE 15, 2022

I own two Alexis Witte straight razors, both of which are excellent shavers. I’ve enjoyed my Witte Copperhead for several years, but the edge on this recently arrived Witte “Over the Top” is just a joy to shave with! Unlike many out there, I’m a big fan of skinny bladed straight razors, and not a fan of the meat cleavers seemingly so popular now. This little 9/16 sailed through the mug stubble effortlessly in three luxurious passes this morning leaving me glassine smooth.

The Star DE was The American Safety Razor Company’s answer to the Gillette Company’s ubiquitous Tech Safety Razor. Although I prefer SE’s, this little razor is a very efficient shaver, particularly when loaded with a Feather blade. With the the Traveling Wilbury’s “Handle with Care” playing in the background, I grabbed my little “Tech-killer” and cleared away my noggin stubble in two careful, ATG passes completing my morning shave with the expected neck to noggin velveteen smoothness.

RAZOR: A. Witte “Over the Top” 9/16 (Mug), Star DE (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: BG Custom Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Canoe Original EdT AS Splash.

You have to buy & grab on impulse at times Gary..Lather catcher's go quick!..The Razorock Hawk, i've read wonderful reports about them..In January this year, i was kindly gifted a vintage Schick G type injector by @jgreenepa (Jeff) of which i was instantly swooned..going on the performance of the Schick G Type i added the Supply V2, which is now my favourite razor to date. I also have the Schick I1 Injector. 1955-58 another wonderful performing shaving tool. i could quite easily stop using my DE razors and stick with my Injectors & Vintage SE razors, but that would become mundane for me i like variety.

Before i introduced myself to traditional wet shaving, i hated shaving with a passion, it was just a task i hated...Now i look forward to shaving, something i never thought i would ever be possible to believe...Enjoy the Harley outing, and the waitress!..Your comments & photo's are an added bonus to this forum....Without your posts the other fellow members of TSD would not have had the pleasure of the wonderful introduction to the amazing, loyal, caring , sometimes pain in the arse fluffy fur-ball of love Theodore! your best buddy...Cats and Dogs, and animals in general give you undivided love...Keep those posts, coming. Yours-Barry.:happy088:

Well, I pulled a last-second switcheroo on my A.S. choice for this morning-went to Clubman Gent's Gin, as it is cooler today than previous days. For that matter, I should have used the Clubman Brushless Shave Cream, but there will be other days for that one.I also wanted to re-arrange the Osage for upcoming days. The Razorock Lime Burst was a good enough choice to continue with. 0:40 at the loading dock and the brush was "pretty much" all set for both passes. What do I mean by pretty much. I'll get to that. Nice job for the first pass. I took care of areas I missed in recent shaves(just to the left of Ingrown Swamp down at Cactus Nation, and that tricky little area just under my right ear at the jawline. Cheeeks&sideburns, and both ends of Porcucpine Alley(chin and whatever the area above the upper lip is called). Cactus checked in as very good. For those still wondering about "pretty much", I added some soap before the 2nd pass. Quite happy. Outta This World Excellent.

hmm..my last initial is T also.part of my process is choosing and posting the set up.basically had the same shave for 5 or so years.most gillettes are very similar.many folks here love commenting on how they love everything more than gillettes.:D.doesn't bother me one iota.the fact that i can achieve a close comfortable error free shave with a gillette is awesome because i learned how to,one day at a time.do what works for you.;):eatdrink047:

The "Big G" has always had a great theme song-not as good as that of Old Spice, in my mind, but pretty classy.

I'm glad I made the last-second switch. I mighta used more of the Gents Gin than I should have, but it's OK. Didn't come out like Niagra Falls.
