    Razor: Henson AL13 mild
    Blade: vintage Schick
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Cities from Space
Soap: Mammoth Soaps - Mood Indigo

Trying to take it easy; may need to take a shaving break due to skin issues that have been developing over the last month.

Nice setup Eric! I think it is a wise move to give your skin a rest from shaving. Are you allergic to certain soaps or is it irritation from shaving due to pressure on blade or maybe the brand of blade?

I am excited about my shave for tomorrow. It is a razor that I haven't used in awhile and I know it's going to be awesome.

No, not shaving or soap related. Itchy red spots have developed outside of the shaving areas, but the skin that gets shaved is now sensitive to having a blade raked across it, no matter how gently.

I would see a dermatologist to get it checked. It sounds like psoriasis.

    Greetings,

    Early Morning Shave,

Finishing my shaving week off in style with my much loved ER 1912 (UK) which performed wonderfully cutting through my stubble effortlessly
What more can I say about these remarkable razors.

The shave was yet again fantastic... I repeat again by saying when ever i use my SE vintage razors I feel as though I am using a proper shaving tool. I have such love and respect for these wonderful vintage shaving ladies.

The Haslinger shaving soap is a magnificent performer with only a slight clean pleasant fragrance 'to my nose' i have mentioned before in my posts the vast majority of shaving soap scents disappeared once i rinsed my face with cold water.....

The Schafmilch sheep milk soap reminds me of MWF/Kent, Hampshire Lanolin Wool Fat shaving soaps which all contain lanolin something my mature skin adores...what i instantly liked about it was, it lather's up in no time without the addition of blooming creating a wonderful luxurious slick protective lather leaving a superb post shave feeling to my face....And like a lot of my mild scented shaving soaps pair's together with all my aftershaves, colognes ,EDTS & EDPS.
An enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe stay cool, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

The Hawk became a very aggressive razor with the open comb and bit me 3 times! The Professional blades are sharp!

Pre-shave washed my face with Dove bar soap and then put HOT washcloth on my face to prep the beard. Put HOT water into my bowl to pre-heat the bowl & brush.

    Pre-shave cream was Proraso Blue.
    Soap was TOBS Lavender again.
    Brush was Simpson's Trafalgar T2
Razor Hawk v3 with open comb base plate and Professional blade (1st use)

Bowl was heated nicely and gave me warm cream to shave with. I got my water to cream ratio right on today and created really nice creamy lather. I could tell right away that the razor was going to be VERY aggressive. It bit me on my left side of my neck, right side of my neck, and right under my nose which leaked steady for a few minutes turning my lavender RED! I did a 1 pass with some cleanup on my neck. I want the beard to be a bit longer so, I can use the DX this weekend. May not shave tomorrow.

The alum bar raised plenty of feedback and stopped the leakers except for the one under my nostril! Dang, that one hurt! I knew right away when it snagged me as I set the razor down that it was a bad one. Been a while since I cut myself like this! I may want to use the light blades with the open comb on this razor. Or switch to thee Standard plate for them Professional blades.

After alum bar, I washed my face with the remaining lather and also shaved the dome on top while it had lather. Left it on my face while I cleaned the bowl, razor, and brush. Cleaned off and applied a dab of Proraso balm and a splash of Clubman.

A little burn today. I need to adjust how I use the Hawk with this combo. I let the weight do the work and it is a bit too heavy. It needs a lighter touch than I gave today.

Day off tomorrow and then Saturday the Feather DX with a ProGuard blade.

    June 16. Birthday Shave

    Good morning

    20220615_212101.jpg

    Straight Shave #376
    5/8 C-Mon
Heritage Collection/ C-Mon Replica SHD Badger Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 39 hrs.

I was going to use Max, but I decided to use one of my C-Mon razors. I also picked out one of my top favorite brushes for my special day. Of course, I had to use one of my lavender soaps to make my shave very pleasurable.

The brush tips are soft, but it does have some backbone. The secret to lathering with Badger brushes is to paint the face a few times and then spray and swirl without pressing too hard, otherwise, the lather goes further into the bristles which makes it difficult to release the lather. This soap never fails to produce a slick, creamy lather. The Lavender scent just puts me in my happy place.

I decided to do a rare 3 pass shave because I had the time and it's my birthday so why not. The shave was real smooth and comfortable as per the negligible alum feedback. There were no errors to report. Finished this fine shave with witch hazeland the glorious matching aftershave. I am now 67 going on 50. Lol! I decided to give myself a deserved day off from the gym and go out east to go antiquing and browse the shops in Greenport which is on the North Fork of Long Island. There is a restaurant called O'Malley's that I go for lunch. It's my birthday tradition. On my way back, I stop at some of the farms and pick up some produce. Have a great day guys!
