Super Stirling Schick Saturday Shave Joe! That's quite a tongue twister. Lol! Btw, I am a firm believer of celebrating birthdays for the entire month.

You have the right advice, but it's hard to follow in this forum.("spice up what we have instead of new purhases")

Pretty good shave today-routine enough(with just the cream and aftershave). One thing that's nice to do with fascinating goo is put some extra on areas you miss. I guess I'm trying to say it's EASIER to do that with masterful goo than with shave soap. For me, anyway. I got most bases covered, and decided to come back to get an embarrassing miss-North Porcupine, right above the upper lip. I could have done a little better down at Cactus Nation, and will focus on there tomorrow. The Osage was a nice finish(A.S.). Hesitant about the cologne-I think I will do it shortly. Super Duper Excellent.

And how did you feel working in those places(slathered in colognes, etc)?

    simple saturday
    new rfb
    gsb
    omega
    gillette

    good morning gents
    spectacular drugstore shave.
there is definitely a benefit to using one razor for a few shaves, even with a blade change.
while i get fine near BBS shaves in general for the most part, the odd weeper,
this one was is bbs, smooth ,
haven't used the gsb blades for a while, they feel similar to platinums.
they are rumored to be the discontiued 7 oclock blues repackaged.
this razor is the last known gillette OC that was commonly available, mid 1940s.
the U.S Gillette plant had long discontiued OC razors.
my brit rfb 3 piece is a favorite razor, this 2 piece has seen little use,by me or it's previous caretaker.
will use it for a few more shaves.

the software was a joy to use,
all available at a drugstore/chemist,yes even this razor, 70+ years ago.
fine Pure lather, rich and slick, slightly scented.
this omega boar retails for around $11,and little beats it.
will require a short break in ,like most omega boars.
lovely scented cool wave a/s, and a dab of balm to finish.
this new moisturizing balm absorbs very quickly, lightly scented.
    awesome.

    have a splendid day everyone.

Very nice, Joe! I have a synthetic brush from Classic Shaving that I like a lot. I have more synthetic brushes than real badger and I like them more than I thought I would. I also bought one of their Satin Tip white bristle brush. It is nice also.:)

I have not tried a boar brush yet. I like the softness of the badger and the synthetics. The synthetics are soft yet, have a nice backbone for face lathering. Altho, I did get a nice face lathering shave today with my Commodore brush.

generally inexpensive, they soften up after a few shaves, tons of backbone.boar bristle absorb water, where as badger and synthetics retain water between the bristles.boars do require a few minute soak before a shave, where as badger and synths do not.:eatdrink047:

Gary, were you the one who asked me how long the Osage coldness lasts?

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, JUNE 18, 2022

I’d like to thank John (@Screwtape) for his review of the new SE plate from Supply razor. It’s a truly remarkable development, and delivers every bit as close a shave as my favorite three dot plate. It paired perfectly with my old V2 handle and just knocked things out of the park noggin shave-wise.

Two passes and the dome was as smooth as it’s possible to get it. I don’t say this lightly, but it’s shave is every bit as good as my Shake Sharps or Speed Razors. And I agree that it’s seemingly impossible to nick oneself, just like my Shake Sharps, only with an injector blade as opposed to a DE blade. It’s a new paradigm in single blade shaving.

This was a morning of superb shaving tools. Victor Creazzi’s SanMai pattern-welded Damascus ‘Fancy’ straight razors not only shave magnificently, but are also beautifully crafted. Victor likes to name his ‘Fancy’ straight razors, and this one’s name is “Bone Mosaic”. The razor is perfectly balanced and delivered a wonderful three pass shave that topped off the morning leaving me smooth from neck to noggin.

RAZOR: Victor Creazzi’s “Bone Mosaic” 7/8 (Mug), Supply V2 w/ SE Plate (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Injector II
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Simpson Chubby 3 Sovereign Fibre
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys WH. Finished with Old Spice (Indian Version)

Jeff, you have some really neat stories to go with your neat razors. :happy096:

That is true Paul. My 11 remaining soaps excluding my samples don't have a variety of scents. 3 are lavender, and 2 are Christmas scents with the rest being utilitarianism. Normally, I would buy 3 scented soaps, but I can live with what I have without any issues.

Years ago, synthetics were looked down upon, but with the advances of the newer synthetic brushes they perform very well.

You’re certainly branching out, Gary! Great Hawk shave. Nice recovery! Lately there's a bit of a fad regarding OC AC plates. Ikve never tried them, but your experience does not seem uncommon from reading others’ reports of their experiences with them. Enjoy your shaves!
