It’s been well just busy with work as usual all my NCOs and I and a few other guys went out for the weekend. Waiting until August to see my girl. Been regularly getting letters from her at army bootcamp. Then my buddy left for marine bootcamp yesterday.

Today was a VERY nice shave with the Star 1912. The 6th shave with the GEM Personna blade. MWF is going strong! I could have stopped at 2 passes but, it was such a pleasure with the Star, I hadta go for a 3rd pass! Minimal cleanup. Zero feedback from the alum bar but plenty of feedback from the razor. NICE!

    Proraso Red pre-shave cream
    Mitchell's Wool Fat the soap
Razor was my Star 1912 with the 6th shave on the Personna blade
Thayers Toner with witch hazel and aloe
    After shave was Proraso
Brush was the Trafalgar T1 Simpson

Pre-shave : I washed my face with the Ivory bar soap and bloomed the Michell's Wool Fat and warmed the lather bowl and brush. Applied pre-shave cream and then poured off the water and started loading the brush while creating lather. I put as much of the lather from the mug into the bowl as I can with my fingers. Set aside and start whipping in the lather bowl. Thick, rich lather! I also did some lathering on my face to build it more. Very slick and nice smell!

The shave was so pleasant that I had to do 3 passes. WTG, ATG, & XTG with minimal cleanup. The Star gives LOTS of feedback as each whisker submits to the blade. LOVE that! Alum bar gave zero feedback. Used the last of the lather from the bowl and brush to wash my face again. I let it sit on my face and dome while I cleaned the brush and bowl. Took the razor again and shaved the top of the dome.

No cuts, nicks, or leakers! VERY nice shave!
Tomorrow it's the Featherweight! I hope all have as nice a shave as I did today! :D

Thanks Joe! The Star is one of the nicest razors I have to shave with when it comes to vintage razors. I get a VERY close shave with it

Thanks, Gary! The Star 1912 is one of the nicest single edge vintage razors that I have. In fact, I could say it is the fav of those razors. :)

The feedback from this razor is LOUD!

My shave tomorrow will decide how I end the week. I hope to do better with the Featherweight. I just might pick the Star to end the week!

His son Ben has not given any updates concerning Jeff. I would venture to guess that he may be in the hospital for a few more days, possibly into early next week, but again, that's conjecture.

Very nice, Gary! When you say "Flat Plate" it makes me think of my Razorine "Flatboy". The blade lays flat in that razor and it's another pleasant shaver.

I found the Simpson Trafalgar T1 to be an excellent face lathering brush. Perfect size and great backbone! I used it to whip in the bowl and then continued on my face. Very nice!
