  3. Saturday Morning Luxury Shave -- Alpha Bandit Edition

Yesterday was a great mail day as it brought the unreleased Bandit by Alpha Shave Works AND the TOBS Platinum combo posted on TSD earlier this week. I suppose it is a "mixed metal" shave this morning.

The Bandit comes to me via a pre-release pass-around. The razor came with three baseplates, a regular SB, an experimental SB with no lather ports, and an open comb. I began by with the port-less SB base plate. Shaving 36 hours of growth did not clog the no-port razor at all, and I tried my best to clog it up. The first shave accomplished BBS in two passes on both face and dome. Very comfortable shave, nice level of blade feel without feeling aggressive, and excellent efficiency. The razor is very attractive, and the handle is beautiful and functional. I never felt like I had to dry my hands to maintain secure grip.

  7. Hi all you crazy shavers....

The past weeks I've been busy.
Seems to be the story of my life nowadays. The ball game was canceled today. So I took the time to post a little.

Anyway, see if I can get my shave history right.

    Today, tomorrow too, same blade.

I just get out of bed and stumble into the bathroom, turn the sink on hot water, get a good mug of lather to lather up well while the sink fills up.
Shave both face and head, two passes then shower. Splash and rub on the proper chemicals and solutions, dress and out the door.

I've found it helpful to choose the intended chemicals, choose and load the razor for morning use the night before.

I'm trying to prevent shaving from being boring and repetitive.

    Enjoy.

    DE Shave # 408 - Gemini Shave

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Jacobson FDG
    Blade: Shark Patinum
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
    Lather: Barrister & Mann Nordost
    Aftershave: B & M Nordost
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Humphreys Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel

Fabulous citrus forward shave this morning as we expect a warm and muggy next few days. I was on the fence as to which combination to use this morning, Arko/Pinaud Citrus Musk or the B &M Nordost. I figure both would be appropriate for this weather. Ultimately I x choose the Nordost.

According to the B & M website the scent description is a follows: “Nordost is the smell of smoked oranges, their peels made leathery by the heat, their juice darkened and concentrated and wonderful. This is no weak, muddled orange scent, handicapped by the fragility of the fruit’s natural oil, but instead an intense, distinctly authentic fragrance so deeply luscious that you’ll swear you’ve buried your face in a basket of the real thing.”

I think for the most part the description is accurate, however, I do not find it to be intense. I do notice a slight smokiness albeit very subtle to my nose. The Nordost is a winter seasonal released soap and splash. I believe it is appropriate for year round as well.
Therefore, I believe Joe, @Trigger, probably would like this citrus scent as he is a fan of the citrus. I could bring Joe a sample at our next LI Chapter meet up next month.

Three passes with the DE razor has left my face super smooth. The culminate the shave, I received the missus’ SOA (Seal of Approval) as she indicated that she liked the scent and it seems clean.

I am not going to worry about any copyright infringements Joe, @Primotenore.
    Have a great day gentlemen.
