    Shavette Shave #373
    Parker SRB Shavette
Gillette Winner 1/2 DE Blade (1)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Soap Commander Honor SS
    Proraso Green AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 29 hrs

    20220627_181137.jpg

Well this shave has a couple of firsts for me. First, it's the first time that I have used a Winner blade in a shavette. Second, it is the first time that I am using Soap Commander Honor. Finally, it's the first time that I using my new $2.00 shave bowl for an official shave.

Soap Commander is an easy soap to lather that has a rich, creamy texture. It is definitely slick because the razor was gliding without any problems. It has a masculine scent, but it's not overbearing.

The Winner blade is very sharp, but smooth. However, I found it to be a little less smoother in one of my DE razors. In my opinion, it is still a good blade, regardless.
Here is the lather using my new and very inexpensive shave bowl. It really makes a nice lather. I will be bowl lathering more often henceforth. 20220627_181920.jpg

Did a 2.5 pass without any problems. The shave was very close. In fact, it was so close, the alum was singing on my neck in the key of high C. Lol! The witch hazel sooth my skin so that the Proraso aftershave did not sting. I will not shave tomorrow so that I have the last 2 days of this month to shave. Wow! June went so fast! Have a nice evening.

  4. June 30/30 -- Beach Day Edition

Razor: Alpha Shaving Works Bandit, Open Comb Plate
    Blade: Gillette Nacet
    Brush: Simpson's Trafalgar T3
Soap & A/S: Stirling Soap Co. Sandpiper

I generally prefer SB to OC baseplates; OC tend to leave me with irritation on the neck. The Bandit is now one of the few exceptions for me. Tonight the OC plate gave me the closest most efficient shave yet. Two passes on the face and head gave a very comfortable irritation-free BBS. After using each plate one time, the OC is at the top of my preferences.

I just got back from a day at the beach, sharing the surf with seagulls and sandpipers. I naturally had to use Sandpiper. This is far and away my favorite Stirling scent.

  5. Super Stirling shave Eric. Somehow, the Stirling Sandpiper scent wasn't for me. Fortunately, a sample was given to me by a member who has fallen off the edge of the Earth. He was a nice guy. Anyway, he was a great Stirling fan and he turned my onto the brand. Stirling has always been a great performer. Have a nice evening.

  7. I finally got a nice cut-free shave with the GEM Featherweight. Really close shave. 10th shave with the blade and it still is going strong.

Soap of the daily shave - I blended TOBS lavender with the Dead Sea soap and got tons of rich lather.
Razor - GEM Featherweight with GEM Personna stainless blade (10th use)
    Proraso red the pre-shave cream
Thayers and a dab of Proraso balm for after-shave.

Showered and prepped face with a splash of hot water. Shave was pleasant with this blend of soaps. REAL rich lather! Really slippery. I finally got a nice shave with this razor. WTG, ATG, and cleanup left me BBS. I avoided the spot I keep re-opening the cut for the most part. This razor gives some nice feedback. Under my nose I now go side to side and get really close there with ease. I guess I have finally mapped my face and how the whiskers grow. Ii am a lot less likely to cut myself now.

Alum bar gave me zero irritation or feedback. I fully expected the alum to make my face scream but, not a whimper. The Thayers is SO nice!

    Look at that rich lather!

  8. Terrific shave Barry! LEA is a fine shave cream based on reviews. It doesn't break the bank and it performs well. Have a great afternoon!
  9. It's great that you mastered the Gem Featherweight razor. The lather looks awesome! Have a terrific day Hogie!
  10. Real good shave this morning-same arsenal as yesterday, but with the Stoylin "No-Name" brush. 0:40 to load the Razorock Lime Burst soap. . Cheeks&sideburns checked in with both passes. Ditto the jawline across the board. Some Knicks developed at various spots of Porcupine Alley. Harmless, small, but they were there. Cactus was fine. 2 passes. The cold-water rinse and the Mennen Skin Bracer A.S. calmed the Knicks, but couldn't quite kill 'em off, A little too much of the A.S., but it brings out the nice scent better than if you do what Jack Palance did in his commercial-one quick slap on each side of the face. Swiss Arabian's Mutamayez cologne again to close out. Most Excellent.
  11. fabulous set ups,shaves and pics gents..:cool::bounce017:
