I had a good shave today with my Parker semi-slant. It got me twice and nicked me!

Showered and warmed the brush & bowl while I bloomed the soap.

Razor - Parker semi-slant with a fresh Parker blade
    pre-shave - Proraso Blue
Soap - Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum & Vanilla
after shave - Thayers toner and Pinaud Bay Rum AS

I had to re-familiarize myself with the Parker and it did nick me twice! Nothing the alum bar could not handle. I did a 3-pass shave WTG, ATG, XTG with minor cleanup. It was harder to get close on my jawline with this razor. I had mixed a spoon of Almond TOBS to create nice rich lather. Alum bar raised a little feedback. I got a nick on my upper lip and on my right cheek!

I hope to do better tomorrow. I was spoiled with 2 weeks of nice shaves with the SE razors.

Gonna be hot today! I hope all have a fine day!

Despite the boo-boos, you had a nice shave Hogie. One of the challenges of were shaving is going from one type of razor to another without cutting yourself because not every razor performs the same. I know that I have mentioned it before, but it does bear repeating. Enjoy your day.

Fine shave this morning to close out the month. As great as the Central Texas Soaps was(Down At The River), I decided to flip it after the shave. Why. I decided I couldn't get another decent shave from it, after chopping the sides down so as almost all would be at the bottom. That helped the shave this morning, but I figured that would do it for River. Cheeks&Sideburns checked in at great, Ditto Cactus Nation. Some Knicks showed up along Porcupine Alley, but harmless. I had a feeling(and I was right)that they would go away or look weaker with the cold-water rinse followed by Aqua Velva. No cuts, no polka-dots. 2 passes. I seemed to get more soap than water-probably due to it being at the bottom of the tub. Fresh, clean, and smelling good. Most Excellent.

I am tempted to try the Feather DX again this week. I wonder how that will go! I will use a ProGuard blade so, it should be OK. Maybe tomorrow!

    good morning gents
fabulous 2 passer in the usual way, touch of buffing as is normal with tech razors.
rehoused the arko puck and a stick, decanted the citrus musk
Evan's brush loaded easily and built a fabulously slick lather.
liberal splash of citrus musk edc.
    awesome.
this set up will be perfect for work shaves as well as others.
scent dissipates quickly, and i catch hints of lemon throughout the day.
also pairs with most anything edt wise that i use on days off..
with a box of Arko sticks arriving soon i should have a long lasting reliable supply for the foreseeable future.:)

    have a great day everyone.

I am going to have to use one of my vintage Gillettes and have a pleasant shave. I am still deciding what one to use tomorrow. So many choices!
Maybe one of these? Very light razors but, nice shavers.

Nice shave Paul. If you had more soap than water, then you didn't have enough water and needed to add some.

Awesome shave Gary! With your stash of Arko, you will have enough soap to last you until you reach my age of 67 and probably beyond. Lol!

thank you Joe.i wanted a william's priced daily soap that works ,idiot proof, with any brush.i have many soaps/croaps creams to use up but not interested in trying to re-source them again.passing/round filing a bunch also.tobs and stirling will remain my off work software choices because i chose them for their scents.i am really trying to simplify stuff.;):eatdrink047:

I decided to do a face and headshave to end the month in grand fashion. As you can see, I decided to do another bowl lather. It's the very first time that I bowl lathered Cella and it really came together. I took my time adding little droplets of water and this is the result:

    20220630_101336.jpg

I made enough lather for 2 passes on my face and 3 on the dome.

I set this knot on Danny's handle. The knot is from Maggard's. The knot is very soft and it still holding up after one year. It has never failed me into making great lathers

My shaves went well on my face and dome without any issues. I must say that the #4 plate on the Rockwell gave me just as good a shave as if I had it on the most aggressive #6 plate. I believe that I will continue to use the #4 plate for my headshaves. The alum block didn't sing on my dome, but a somber song did come forth from my neck. Added witch hazel and the nice Stirling Spice aftershave to finish the shaves. Looking forward to July. I will be introducing a brand new theme for July and a new, appropriate hug picture in my intro. Take care guys.

I think that's a great plan. You can use any aftershave with Arko. Stirling and TOBS are excellent mainstays.

great looking lather Joe.i like bowl lathering because of the fine results it brings, without using my face as a mixing board.face lathers are nice once a soap is dialed in accordingly.but with my many products and changing them daily one forgets how a soap lathers when not used in a while.yes,it lengthens the process but that's the zen part of wetshaving..glad you are enjoying it.:):eatdrink047:
