Thanks to a purchase @jimjo1031 did yesterday, I did some research and it peaked my interest in a brush listed as an unknown restored brush. It's a vintage Vulfix from the 60's - 70's restored with a 20mm Maggard's silver tip knot. If set properly and feels good I'll use it after a good cleaning. The price of the knot would be worth the price the seller accepted.
We shall see how this shaves my head. I love my Gillette fat boy but shaving my head with it isn’t fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They used to be uncommon. At this point in time, they probably qualify as rare. Wood cased ones are rare. I see a couple of these razors for sale every year, most without cases, a few in cases, and a few in cases that still have the cardboard inserts. @Darkbulb did a review on one some years back that encouraged a fair number of Den residents to track them down and add to their own collections. Me, I just like vintage gimmicky razors. Most actually do what they claim.
When I was an early teen, my dad received a promotion that needed training and required moving. My mom and I moving to the new location was getting use to the new area she would hit all the dress shops and I would ask to be dropped off at the thrift stores. .................. I think back to the many schick, toggles and Berkeleys I'd pick up up and think "What strange razors and who would ever want these things" .................... "Doh" Great haul!
