I stopped string trimming in shorts and flip flops when I got into poison ivy one time by mistake. I trimmed up all the poison ivy nicely, but my feet and legs had leopard spots all summer. Live and learn. :)

For prevention, I wear knee-high support socks (and yes, I wear long pants over the socks :)), stay well hydrated, and take breaks every couple of hours on long drives. We usually stop at hotels as the bathrooms are nicer/less crowded, and we can walk or climb stairs indoors if the weather is bad. Otherwise, we'll walk a couple of loops around the hotel parking lot before we get back in the cruise mobile. If we're driving all day, this makes all the difference in how we feel the next day.

I also wear the knee-high socks on long flights, stay hydrated and make sure to move around the cabin frequently. I also lost some weight, and that helps with so many things beside blood clots.

    So far, so good.

P.S. Send me your straight razors and DEs, Brian. You have no business using them. I'll send you a Norelco electric razor. :D

Yeah, I know. I must be shrinking. Remember how much taller I was when we got together at the 30 DC meet up?

And please don't press up against me so much the next time. It wrinkles my suit. :happy097:

Pretty soon, I'm going to have to take a spoon to the Lime Burst..flatten it out a bit. I wonder what it will look like, as I appear to be going straight down the middle...I can even see some of the bottom.

And now, fresh from my purchase order of Mama Bear Soaps( Beau Brummel), I just went for my first Bill Neumann shavesoap(4 oz. of Heartland). Gonna go easy for a few months.

That's what my dear Mom liked to say "Live And Learn".....now it's up to her first-born to do just that!!

Charlie, thank you for speaking some common sense into me. My wife gets frustrated with my “carelessness” and liked your post as well. I appreciate the pointers and will pay attention to things going forward. I will wear the socks under long pants only.

I’m not ready for this look

    SRS 721 - Sample Sunday

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thistle 5/8”
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Old Cahaba
    Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Smokeberry
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Humphreys Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Beautiful Sunday morning. I was up early to make homemade blueberry muffins as my sister and mother were planning to come over for breakfast. I did manage to get in an X3Bar Pull workout prior to their visit.

I had a very nice shave with the Lakewood Soap sample of Smokeberry. I have found that it pairs nicely with the Gredos aftershave. I had another close shave without any issues.

Hope you all had a great day.

Very nice shave Gary. Is the Myrsol Blue similar to the Floid Blue or the Epsilon Blue?

It is a very nice scent. However, I think I like the HC Cabin in the Woods better. It does whip up into a very nice lather.

Wonderful shave to put you in better spirits. I hope the doctor has a good plan to alleviate the SVT issue. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry about the challenges with the DX. Enjoy your SE and DE razors. Perhaps down the road the Shavette will be a little gentler.
