Great shave, Joe! I do bowl lathering 95% of the time. It's just thicker and richer that way. I still work the brush on my face before painting the lather on. This forces the soap right into the beard. I also re-whip before re-applying for the next pass. When I add a spot of cream soap to the mix, it gets REAL rich!
I am glad I got it when I did! He is out of stock on them now and has been for a while now. Geo had these made and they are perfect size and make great lather. The bottom is esy to grip so it's easy to hold even with soapy hands. https://shavenation.com/collections...ucts/shave-nation-chicago-artisan-lather-bowl
I'm glad you commented on the bottoms helping the grip.I always held mine by the sides-course mine aren't as fancy as these.
My Bill Neumann soap is out for delivery today!! As I said earlier, I hope I can take the lid off successfully-if not I'll have to snap it open and take out the soap to use in a bowl.
I leave the soaps right in their containers and I bloom them in the jar andthen pour off water hold them over my lather bowl while I load the brush letting the lather drop into the bowl. When it looks like I have enuff, I set aside the jar and start whipping in the bowl adding water as needed in tiny amounts. Less than a minute and I have a good bowl full! This just a suggestion that works well for me.
I'll see if that works-course it would be harder if I have to hold the lid open, so it doesn't snap shut while the loading persuasion is happening.
It's a challenge to come up with a proper name for the Razorock soap that comes Thursday...I'll just have to call it what THEY call it..."XXX Italian Shaving Soap". but the thing is I bet there are many XXX soaps in Italy with similar titles (shaving soaps, that is).
Grand Shave King razor head. Razorock thick bar stainless steel handle. Feather blade (2). Hembree Delrin brush handle with synthetic knot. Soap Commander Fortitude shave soap. Timeless Razor shave bowl. Irish Chestnut by Andy Hilfiger cologne. Awesome three pass shave this morning. The GSK is a mild razor but boy is it smooth with a Feather. I discovered Azalea City Suds on Etsy and ordered a few shave soap samples today. It is a Mobile, Alabama seller and seems to garner goods reviews on YouTube. I figured it would be worth a try. Happy Hump Day everyone!
Very nice and purdy! This one is mine and I love it....best $12.00 I spent for the den. Timeless Razor shave bowl.
Hey Joe @Trigger . I ran across this on E-Bay. It seems that Gucci made a shaving brush similar to my Delrin handles. Who would have thought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1446415348...n-XniRcR5u&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
