summer 2007 (Damn, I look young!) When I hated shaving but shaved just a little of my face after the ex left. (I'm FREE!)
Cowboy hat is still my topper and kinda trademark me.

Ok, I finally was able to download my pics for this morning’s shave. It must have been a computer glitch that prevented me from doing so.

    Here are the pics:

Thanks Hogie. I am amazed that this 2 dollar thrift shop bowl makes great lathers.

I am still going to face lather, but this bowl is making it difficult for me to go back to it.

i agree.if i had one soap only i guess i could perfect face lathering after some time.i got decent face lathers from modern williams for years..until i found this site of course.i love the slick goopy non translucent lathers i build in a bowl.just part of the wet shaving
experience.;).a perfect shave? in ones mind perhaps.i have repeated shaves with identical set ups and had different results the next day, albeit minor.
honestly Joe.i like to face lather with a quick lathering cream like KMF or TOBS and a boar brush, when in a rush per se.beyond that it's full on "take your time" and enjoy the procedure.congrats on your newly enjoyed pleasure.:):eatdrink047:

Thanks Gary. I always say experiment with the entire shaving process so that you are better prepared to have great shaves. Obviously, this means different things to each of us. How would anyone know what works best for them unless they branch out and try different shaving items. As for me, I will say bowl lathering will be more a part of my shaving routine because of the ease of using my bowl. Now, if I can find another cheapie bowl for pictorial variety, then I really would be happy. I just need to make sure that I do not break this one.

Brian, I'm sorry to hear that. I pray the symptoms are minor, and it resolves quickly. :angry032:

    Is your leg feeling better?

Two shaves recently went slightly downhill.

On July 11th I shaved with 2 days growth and the 7th shave on a Derby Extra, and it DRAGGED, so I changed it.

It improved with a new blade, but the shave still dragged a bit more than normal. I also got two tiny nicks.

    7/10 Satisfaction

Today with 36 hours growth it went better on shave #2 of that blade. Still 2 nicks and some slight dragging. 8/10.

I doubt it is a bad blade and certainly feels about the same as a cartridge today.

Not bad, but it could be a bit better. If it does not feel as good as it did a week ago, I am going to change the blade again early.

Thanks for the info Gary. They are hand hammered by Turks with dimples for less than 8 dollars. At least I know where to look.
