Shaved again today #3 on my second Derby Extra blade. Was dragging like mad, so I replaced it very early in the shave. The next blade was quite a bit better and sharper. My technique is bad again though and I got 5 bleeders. 6/10 Pretty sure the next shave will be great though.
That is a rough shave, but I am sure your next shave will be better. When blades get dull, we tend to compensate with more pressure and that causes nicks and cuts. The care.
Today was a nice end to the week of pleasant shaves with my vintage open comb razors. I end the week with a Micromatic shave. Razor - Micromatic open comb with GEM Personna SS blade (3rd shave) Mitchell's Wool Fat (I forgot to take the lid off for the photo!!!!) Simpson Trafalgar T3 brush Proraso Blue pre-shave Thayers & Pinaud finish the shave. The shave was another pleasant one. The blade is still sharp and efficient. I did manage to get 2 small nicks but, the alum bar took care of them both. One was low on my neck where I ventured off the cream protected areas! I did a 2-pass shave with cleanup. WTG & ATG. Alum bar gave minimal feedback. I will call this one a good shave!

I acquired this razor around mid winter. I decided to give it a new residence going forward. Additionally, I transferred my Illinois strop No. 127 to this location as well. I am thinking that as I finish restoring the razor up Norh, they will be the ones to stock the Southern den. Two of those restorations are near completion, with only the scales to finish. I had a fabulous shave with the Genco Getico razor. I finished the shave off nicely with the AV splash (American version). My face feels fabulous. Stay cool and enjoy your day.
