    Greetings,

New shave set up to start the weekend...I intend to carry on with my tribute month using the Gem Featherweight & the Schick Type G Injector but to feed my urges & need for variety with my SOTD set ups, for the rest of the month i will be adding an assortment of other shaving soaps/creams, ASL's & post shave balms & gels that i haven't used in a while. 'If the truth be told, to start using them up, because I've had some of them for a considerable amount of time, along with the Ever-Ready 1912 (US) "my first SE vintage ER, & the most recently added the Schick I1 Injector 1955-58, another two kindly gifted SE razors, and finally to further my appreciation & enjoyment of these remarkable vintage shaving tools, I'll also be adding my modern Supply V2, & Parker InjRzr to carry on with my eclectic shave set ups.

The P&B Citra Royale soap i haven't used for a while, which provided me with a excellent slick protective lather, with a really nice fragrance which reminds of lime opal fruits/starburst chew sweets, leaving a wonderful post shave feel.

With the mini heatwave we've had in the UK recently my cold water shaves have been refreshing & a great tonic for my mature skin type.

A comfortable face & head shave to start another weekend on a high note...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

The stops at the leading edge of the blade were missing and turned that razor into an un-tameable beast!
The blade sits on top of and past where the stops belong. Either worn, broke, or filed off.

I got a very nice shave with the Hawk open comb and a mild blade. This is a first for me! No cuts, nicks, or weepers!

Razor - Hawk v3 with open comb base plate
Blade - Captain Titan Mild (2)
Soap - Sir Hare Classic Barber
    Brush - Simpson Trafalgar T3
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
    Thayers toner & Proraso balm

I was a bit apprehensive going into the shave using an un-guarded blade but, it turned out to be very nice. I rode the cap and this is what was needed. I simply did not have the correct angle before. I may try a Professional blade next! 3-pass shave WTG, ATG, XTG with minimal cleanup. Alum bar gave almost no feedback. Very light touch & ride the cap works!

I also used a lighter coat of cream so,I could see what I was doing. Slow going. This blade is wider but, that doesn't mean you need to shave more faster! Easy does it!

I think I have tamed this beast! :)

I hope you all have a pleasant shave today!

Great shave and post Barry. It's a great thing to be flexible in using our shaving gear. Enjoy your afternoon.

Super Saturday shave Hogie. Your experiences shaving with the Hawk proves my point that we have to adjust our technique for some razors. Each razor has a different personality and we must take that into account when shaving. Have a good day.

I think I was trying to use the same angle as I do with my DE razors. This razor demands you ride the cap or it will bite! Hold with cap against face and tilt just a bit until it catches and that is perfect. SLOW too. Short strokes.

Maybe I'll try it one more time in the summer to see if I feel all right. Bill Neuman does have a warm-weather-is-best product(Absolute Zero). That's the only one Bill wants us to use in the summer(as the title implies).

I have said this many times. I am not beholden to shaving with seasonal soaps at the appropriate time of the year. I have shaved with Stirling Christmas Eve SS and Chiseled Face Cryogen SS during the summer and winter, respectively. I say to choose a soap whatever you like and whenever you like.

As I said the other day, I just wish ny skin could agree with that idea...especially in the humid summers.
