  1. Y'know, speakina this "modern vs. ancient(vintage)" persuasion- a check of that Long Island company(name escapes me now)shows that their MODERN Barbershop soap appears more Vintage than the VINTAGE Barbershop itself. I find that odd.

  2. pure marketing Paul.williams continued to make soap for it's hardcore followers.they seemed to of carried the "they won't notice"attitude maybe.lets make it even cheaper was more in line of the times.a quick example-one doesn't notice ones shocks on a vehicle slowly wearing out.until 80 k later when they are due to be replaced.the car then feels good again ,almost like new,but not quite the same, something missing.;)

  3. "Pure marketing....they won't notice", eh? My problem is with the "they won't notice". I notice these thigs. Rise Superfoam is great, but I'd call it Original Rise Shaving Cream's "nephew". When P&G bought Old Spice, its "New Spice"(my name for it now)products weren't the exact same as the original. I could go on, and I'm sure you could, too :angry017:

  5. Late posting. I had things to get done this morning.

I had a passable shave with the Hawk open comb and a Professional blade (2)
Hawk v3 with open comb base plate
    Feather Professional blade (2)
    Sir Hare Classic Barbershop
    Rescued Perfecto brush
    Pre-shave Proraso Blue.
Thayers & a dab of Proraso balm
    Splash of Pinaud Clubman

I tried the Professional blade again and did better this time. I did get a couple weepers and the alum bar gave a bit of feedback. WTG, ATG, and cleanup. I had a little too much water in my soap! The razor glided nicely. I did nick myself on my jawline.

Overall a good shave with errors.

  9. My Sunday got off to a bad start. I was thinking that my Harley's exhaust needed new baffles and wrap because it had gotten louder. Well, when I went to remove the existing baffles, I discovered that the rear muffler baffle had come apart inside the muffler and the loose pieces wore a BIG hole in the bottom of my muffler! I couldn't see it until I started removing heat shields. I had to fight with the mufflers to get them off so I could put the originals back on! The broken one needed to be cut off! I would not recommend Vance & Hines exhaust!

It is supposed to be one piece! One end weld cracked and broke. It was only held on with 2 weld spots (tacked) and not really welded. The nut plate broke free and the end wore from sitting against it vibrating. Look at that HOLE!!!

It sure sounds a lot better now! Now bike needs to be washed but, I am wiped out!

Muffler and the 3 pieces of the baffle
