Reprofiled Wacker “Old Sheffield”

    I had the opportunity to pick up a beautiful Wacker that had a small accident.

    Looks pretty good, but the drop bent the point, as shown by the seller:

    I had an idea of what I could do with it, combining what I think I had seen in an old Wostenholm or even mirror the look of an old French faux frameback.

    The main thing I was trying to accomplish was to minimize steel removal, get the twist to a point where it doesn’t effect the shave, and try and keep the design centered.

    Once I had it I marked it up, I then got out the dremel. Cutting wheels, sanding drums, sanding pads, and then hand sanding filled up my Sunday afternoon.

    I think I was able to balance those goals:

    Shaved with it this evening, and it shaved like a dream… very happy.
