I just stepped out to go to the 7-11 and then went into my local pharmacy. I decided to get Aqua Velva Ice Blue. I ran out of it awhile ago and never replaced it.

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Tuesday July 19 - sort of patriotic

Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (13) -- American razor / Japanese blade
Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 Synthetic -- Old School English
Soap: TOBS Lavender Shave Cream (croap) -- also veddy veddy English
Post: Polar Ice Booster -- American but soulless commercial conglomerate

Last shaved a week ago Thursday, so had a hayfield to mow. One-and-done did the job to a decent level of clean shaven.

TOBS shaving cream as always made a lovely lather with a good scent. This tub was stored with the lid a little loose, so it dried down to 1/4 its original full state. However the remaining croap still lathers up quickly and the scent is still strong. The only difference is that I need to swirl the damp brush in the tub a few times instead of just dipping the tip into the cream to pick up enough product to face lather. The resulting lather still builds on my face just as quickly and is still just as slick as ever.

The blade tugged once or twice but overall is still going strong. I estimate it should be good for a couple more shaves at least.

Super shave John. I love the lavender scent, but never tried TOBS. However, I have Music City Suds (unobtainium) and Angora Soaps Lavender. Both have great frags.

Good shave this morning. Continuing the "One soap July" and the USA made razors.

Razor - 1967 Gillette Slim set on 7
    Blade - Feather 2nd use
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
    Soap - MWF
    Brush - Simpson Trafalgar T1
After shave - Thayers toner and dab of Proraso balm
    Proraso AS

Showered and heated lather bowl/brush and bloomed the soap with HOT water. The lather was really nice. I did a 2-pass shave with cleanup. I managed to nick myself right under my nostril! Also on my chin! Nothing that the alum bar couldn't handle but, it turned a pleasant shave into a bit of irritation! I had not used the Slim in a while and I guess I forgot how to handle it! Feather blade upped the ante.

    Thayers is always nice.

I hope everybody did better than I did today. My back is a bit better but, still sore.

A much better shave this morning than yesterday. My glasses are loose due to a fall a while back, so I decided I'd just do one pass on the sideburn areas. I'm getting them fixed today by the way. About 0:30 again at the loading dock for the Crown King to do its work. No Cuts, Knicks, or Polka-dots. Good sign! Missed a little at NW Porcupine(under right nostril). Will focus on that area tomorrow. Otherwise, a real nice shave. Super Duper Excellent.

With the predicted arrival TOMORROW of the Wet The Face product, I do now think I can put it to work for me during this hot&humid phase. I can thus make a quick comparison of that to my current "freezer" soap-the Stoylin Glacial Electric Sheep. Course right off the bat, the Wet The Face would have a more delightful scent(Lemon Tart), but we'll see if "Scent Trumps Feel".

Despite the wounds, that's a good shave Hogie. I usually keep my adjustables at the max setting for the entire shave, but I have learned to dial it down and still get an efficient shave. However, I still will go full force as my mood dictates me to do so. Enjoy your day.

Thanks Joe....you do the same. I look forward to comparing the two "freezer" soaps, when the Lemon Tart one arrives.

    Rockwell 6S top cap.
Karve aluminum solid bar "D" base plate.
Signature shaving SSC59 stainless steel handle - bead blasted.
    Feather blade (2).
    Razorock 400 Plissoft synthetic brush.
Azalea City Suds Temple of Relic shave soap same with matching splash sample.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.

I had to lay down the PAA Ascension today and play with the Karve aluminum plate that came in yesterday.

I discovered a while back that a Rockwell top cap will work on a Karve plate. Gillette Old Type caps and most Yaqi top caps will work as well.

The three passes were very nice and the soap did a great job as well. I want to use the soap for the rest of the week. I'll then comment on it and let y'all know how it does. I found Azalea City Suds on Etsy and it is based in Mobile, Alabama. I just had to give it a go.

    Take care everyone!

    Good morning

    Shavette Shave #380
    Parker SRB
Gillette Winner 1/2 DE Blade (5)
    Hembree Delrin Timberwolf Brush
    Chiseled Face Cryogen SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

I definitely will be shaving with Cryogen this entire week because it will be in the 90's the entire time. The soap needs plenty of water during the bowl lathering process because it really gets to be like Elmer's glue in texture otherwise. However, it still produces a nice, creamy and slick lather.

    20220719_100731.jpg
Did 2.5 passes without pickups or errors. The blade is being binned because I could feel that it's not as sharp as a fresh one. Duh! It's not supposed to feel as sharp as a new blade. Lol!

My feedback from the alum block was zero. Finished the shave with witchazel and my new bottle of Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave. It definitely was a refreshing shave. Take care.
