    DE Shave # 412

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Dollar Tree DE
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
    Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Smokeberry
    Aftershave: Floid Genuine
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block

Excellent early Sunday morning shave. The Lakewood Soap whips up into a nice lather. As there is still some soap pressed into the honeycomb of the Van Yulay travel bowl a repeat shave is in order for tomorrow.

The Dollar Tree TTO razor with the GSB delivered a smooth and close shave. Alum report was silent.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Wonderful shave Barry. How many soap/creams do you have left in the den?

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Sunday July 24 - sort of patriotic

Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (14) -- American razor / Japanese blade
Brush: Semogue SOC cherrywood badger refitted with APShaveCo Tuxedo synthetic knot -- Portuguese/Canadian
Soap: MWF -- English and I believe northern English at that (my mother's family came from both sides of the Scottish Border)
Post: Osma alum block (French); Polar Ice Booster -- uhmmm... generic multi-national commercial conglomerate??

All the usual suspects from my recent shaves returned -- just with claimed "ethnic/national heritage" attached.

My last shave was on Tuesday morning, so I had five-day stubble. One quick pass resulted in a Socially Acceptable Shave -- cleanshaven with no visible shadow.

The blade is still fine, so I may get more than 15 shaves out of it after all. Injector blades are thicker and longer-lasting than DE blades of course, but that is still pretty good.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday leading into an excellent week!

Weekend Hawk shaves. This Sunday shave was excellent! I tried my newest soap from TOBS, Peppermint. Cooling to the face. I like peppermint! I use the small spoon to measure amount for shave.

I discovered that my watch had stopped! Automatic Seiko 5 will stop if you don't wear for a day. I wore my solar Seiko yesterday.

Razor - Hawk v3 with Feather Professional blade (3)
    Soap - TOBS "Peppermint"
    Brush - T2 Trafalgar Simpson
    Proraso "Blue" pre-shave cream
    Thayers Toner
    Geo F Trumper Skinfood

Showered and used cool water to shave. Peppermint works well with the Proraso Blue and cools the face. 3-pass shave left me nice and smooth. As if I needed another soap but, I really did not have any mentholated soaps and now I have 2. Just in time for summer!

WTG, ATG, XTG with no cuts, nicks, or weepers! Alum bar gave minimal feedback.

Yesterday's BBQ was OK until a hard core bluegrasser got there.....no more country music as he took over the whole jam! I left...sore today so, I am trying some CBD balm on my lower back. Not sure if it's kidney or lower back. I have kidney disease so, it could be either.

I hope you all stay cool and have a fine shave!

A better shave this morning with the frozen Wet The Face than yesterday with same. A correction from yesterday-I had the Maggard 24mm Marble Handle Razor out, not the Stoylin. I didn't time the loading action but it looked like I got a good amount of soap onto the brush. I had made sure to get more water on it prior to the loading. Greast job everywhere in painting the soap onto my face and neck. Rembrant would be proud. No skin was left undone. The cold feeling was there. Nice job all around(again)with the shaving persuasion. I combined North-to-South to the other way around, especially down at Cactus. Again the Skin-Bracer was a nice cool finish. Passion 4 Men cologne to close, Outta This World Excellent.

Thank you, joe...I have approx 15-18 soaps / 12-14 shave creams..Some i have double of both soaps & creams.. My intention is to start using up soaps & creams i haven't gave much attention and use up, before i purchase any more..."That's the plan i will try and stick to'... Hardware i can't see me buying for a long time, as I'm quite happy & content with what i have, both DE & SE razors...The only thing i will be buying in the next couple of months, when i run out, are some Japanese Schick Twin Injector II blades, for my Schick I1 Injector 1955-58 which are incredibly efficient and long-lasting and pair wonderfully with my Schick I1 ...Having too much of something isn't always a good thing, you don't have the time to use or appreciate it..'I have enough of what i need, not what i want!

    Yours- Barry.:happy088:

Fantastic shave Hogie. The TOBS Peppermint is one of the creams that I will eventually try. Personally, I think it's an all year round scent. It would be great during the Christmas season. Hope you feel better.

Thanks, Joe! Yes, this one could be used any time of year. I will now join many others for Menthol Mondays! ;)
Tomorrow will be Proraso "Green" and then I will finish the month using MWF. I have used quite a bit of that puck now!

Thanks for the feedback. I have at least three times the amount of soaps. I will not be purchasing for a while. The only purchase I see of a full tub will be the Declaration Grooming Darkfall when I run out with the next two months. If I choose any other soaps I will get samples if available.
