Fatip shave. Open comb. Sapone da Barba made me work for the lather. WHIP, WHIP, WHIP!

    Fatip open comb
    Treet blade 1st use
    TOBS Herbal Gel pre-shave
Santa Maria Del Fiore Sapone da Barba
    Simpson T2 Trafalgar synthetic brush
Thayers Toner & Geo F Trumper Skin Food
    Pinaud Clubman Vanilla AS

It takes a bit more work to get nice rich lather with this soap but, I got it! Nice lather and scent. 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with minor cleanup. Nice and smooth face!
No cuts, nicks, or weepers. Alum bar gave minimal feedback. Another great shave!

The music was great yesterday. Today I am taking it easy.

    Good morning!

Chiseled Face Cryogen SS and AS

It's going to be in the high 80's on Long Island so it's a perfect time to bring out the Cryogen. I decided to go against my method of wetting my face and load the brush dry and just do the reverse. I basically lightly touched the puck so that I don't pick up to much soap. You really don't need a lot because it suds up on the face fine. It may not give a voluminous lather, but it is slick and of course Cold, especially on the second pass.

Two passes with very little touchup gave me a BBS shave without errors. I think that setting 4 is my sweet spot on this razor as well as on the Model T. I was a full throttle guy with my safety razors, but now I find that it's not necessary unless I have a 4 day growth which I haven't had in decades.

The alum gave very little feedback. Witch hazel and the Cryogen aftershave were splashed on my face and neck to finish my shave. It was a nice extra menthol kick from the aftershave and there wasn't any alcohol burn. Now that I am wide awake, I am headed out the door for some breakfast and then off to the gym for my full body workout. Have a great day guys!

    SRS # 734 - Affronted August Soap - Weekdays

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: JR Torrey Celebrated Hollow Ground
    Brush: JTSpartan Boar 24 mm
Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra Kilix
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Kilix
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Humphreys Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Today’s shave featured another soap that had been relegated to the back of the den. I do not believe I have used this soap/splash combination this year. It is such a great scent that I am asking myself why I do not reach for it more often? The simple answer to the question is: I have too much stuff.

The scent profile of the soap is: “A deep and mysterious profile opening with Bergamot and Cardamom leading in to an Iris, Heliotrope and Violet heart all settling on a base of Cedar Wood, Sandalwood, Amber, Oud and Tonka Bean.”

I did my usual three pass shave. My face feels smooth and refreshed. It is going to be another hot one today. Before it gets real toasty, I am going to spend about an hour splitting some firewood. Of course I have my bathing suit on so if I get overheated I will just jump in.

I hope you all are finding your cool spot. Have a great day gentlemen.

I should just pull out the trusty ol'"Just Like Yesterday" rubber stamp and punch it onto this post space. Course there was ONE difference-the brush. But everything e;se was the same. I decided to keep my glasses on while doing the sideburn area-it's a nuisance to take them off and put them back on just a few seconds later. I did the Stoylin Barbershop in the shower to "prep" the shave, and you don't feel that Stoylin cleanliness&freshness until the end of the shave, when all whiskers are good and gone. But it's worth the wait. Got good lather with the Stoylin Glacial soap(Electric Sheep). Except for a Knick at West Cactus Nation, all went well. That Knick was washed off nicely with the cold-water rinse and Clubman Gent's Gin aftershave. Outta This World excellent.

Very nice chilling shave Joe. Enjoy your workout. I did my X3Bar Push workout around 7 AM then jumped in the pool.

Thank you Joe....Still wrestling with my loofah in the shower upon applying the Stoylin soap to it. But that's OK.

Terrific shave and shot Joe. When I had over 20 soaps, my problem was not forgetting a particular soap, but choosing a particular soap. Lol.

Terrific shave Paul. I am nearsighted so shaving without my glasses works for me. I find it uncomfortable to shave otherwise.

I'm at the point where most things I see are getting blurry. I found it a big difference to shavew with my glasses on. Thanks for the compliment on the shave. Have a nice workout later.

Fabulous looking shave Hogie. I am going to take it easy for the rest of the day. I did about an hour and a half of splitting wood with a break to jump in the pool. Have a good rest of you day.
