Absolutely wonderful shave with one of my favorites. I refreshed it a couple of days ago and wanted to see how it responded. I’m no honemeister by any stretch so I’m always more than pleasantly surprised when I get it right :happy088: Just a knockout lovely shave :happy036:

    Hot water preparation
    Argan Oil PSO
    Savile Row 3824
    Baume Shaving Cream
    Lund 6/8
    Shulton Old Spice After Shave

Fine shave Karl. There's nothing like shaving with your own edge. What did you use and what was the progression?

It was just a refresh - some laps on a 12K Naniwa Super Stone followed by some laps on my yellow-green Thuringian. I’ve only once tried to take something back to a new edge. I have some films if I want to go back further than the 12K but rarely use them. I do regret passing up a 4K/8K stone that @Billyfergie pointed me to once upon a time some years ago :happy088:

I have used my films to refresh and set bevels up to 0.3 microns. I get great edges and don't feel the need to get stones.

Anton Wingen Othello, same scales as one of my friend Matt’s razors but with a different guy in the window - maybe the same blank too, the Germans made a lot of razors for the Italian market. Software was AdP clone wars, SV Colonia 4.3 lathered with a Semogue Galahad, and a splash of Fine Italian Citrus finished up a great shave.

5/8 Winchester (American), cream and AS were AdP Colonia and an Oscar11-handled Zenith boar did the lathering. Poifect.

Thank you Tom, yes it’s new to me, part of a $28 BIN lot of 4 on eBay, with two Mappin and Webb and one dud, a worn 4/8 coiffure. Needless to say I hit the ‘Buy’ button pretty fast. The Winchester had water spots that cleaned up well and one of the M&W will probably only ever be a user. But the other M&W has pressed horn scales and is very nice. Quite a good deal, 2 nice and one usable razor for $28.

By coincidence, my Mappin and Webb shouted out to be used today. Really glad it did. It effortlessly wiped away three days of stubble for a fine, fine shave :happy036:
