Wasn't it due to photo bucket or some free photo hosting app? They got everyone hooked and then made it a pay service, deactivating thousands of photos for those that wouldn't pay. Grrrr.

Firstly I'd like to say, wow what a fantastic thread and post, I've referred to it several times over the last few years in my searching for Rockets. I'm curious, how does the French Monobloc fit in here? It has the same dial gap mechanics as the Rockets and clear similarities to the HD 500 rocket and why is it called Monobloc?
    Any help would be appreciated

if your meaning the yellow cased monobloc it has less plating, slightly different knurling and i believe made in france.the earlier monobloc in the blue case is a brit made hd for the french market.lot's of brit made razors were made for the french market between the 1930s-mid 50s.

Just to clarify, your saying that the french Monobloc and the HD are the same razor despite having a different design an I believe weight too? I've read that the Monobloc was produced in Germany (no Made in England stamp on mine)

Yes thank you I'm familiar with this website, a great source of information and it was my first stop, I wasn't aware that the monobloc also defined the HD look alike. Appreciate the help

    I just got this:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/175913659389

In person, the plating loss doesn't look as bad as in the pics. It's actually barely noticeable.

Unfortunately, the pics are gone for the earlier posts in this thread. Did I get a real "rocket" or what collectors refer to as a "rocket?"

It shaves nice, but I haven't had a chance yet to compare the shave to my U.S. neutral-colored flare (not flair) tip.

    Thanks

Can't beat it for 10 bucks! I used that razor exclusively from 16-38 years old, and still have it looking in great condition.
Now you can research if you have one stamped I or II on the underside of the baseplate... and what that means. :)
