I would agree. But a little more concentration on watching the undercut, while “rolling” the slight pressure, and it is not as bad as it may look. This is also a great candidate for the thinner hones and strops.
The Otto Busch lived up to it’s name and provided a world class shave tonight. It was a nice contrast to the near wedge of my last shave showing once again that, at least for me, there is no one “right” style of blade Hot water preparation Argan Oil PSO Savile Row 3824 Haslinger Aloe Vera Shave Soap Otto Busch Weltmeister 265 Sonderklasse 11/16 Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Happy shaving - Karl
Testing the thick koppa, a Shell 72 had a medium thickness slurry edge and the Genco had the same +20 clear water. Cream was SMN lathered with. Zenith boar and a s-lash of Agua Balsamica finished up. It’s an excellent hone, there’s no shortage of sharp. No surprises either, the slurry edge was a little smoother and the water edge a little keener. I think I prefer the slurry edge. I used a slightly thicker slurry than I normally do on the slurry edge, so my usual thin slurry should be Goldilocks right.
Beautiful. I love the Japanese razors. I never bought one of these though, figuring I wouldn't be able to hone it properly.
5/8 E.A. Berg rattler, small but it can shave the barbs off a barb wire fence. Soap was SV Flying Mango 4.3 lathered with an Oscar11 handled Zenith boar. A splsh of Agua Balsamica finished up a great late summer shave.
Thank you. I have loved the smile of these blades since the first time I saw one. Such a fun experience.

Those are so wild. The scale always invokes the profile of the arch of a high heeled shoe and the smile is just too much - almost like a Dali painting. Were it not for the challenge of refreshing the blade this would be right at the top of my list with just a few others
Karl, I think you would enjoy refreshing the edge and it wouldn’t be a problem. The basics are still there… I think you would be surprised how well behaved they are on the hone.
OK, I’m going to start keeping an eye out - although I’ll have to figure out how to store it as it’s not going to fit into my converted pen, now razor, case
