That's a great setup and shave Barry. My father didn't have the luxury of using the modeen shave soaps that we use today. It was either the canned stuff or a bar of soap for his shaves. Enjoy your afternoon.

Terrific Tanac shave Gary. I will have to break out the stick this week. Have a super Sunday.

    Oh yeah......awesomeness!

Tatara Nodachi with open comb plate.
    Feather blade (fresh).
    Simpson T3 Trafalgar synthetic brush.
    Tabac shave soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.

Gary @brit inspired the Tabac this morning.

First run with the open comb Nodachi. The Nodachi open comb is a sweet shaver. It removed two days growth like butter. It was so efficient that I only did a two passer this morning. I don't know if this would be an everyday shaver but when skipping a day it is awesome.

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Terrific inaugural shave with the Tatara Nodachi Open Comb Danny. I have to bring out my Tabac stick before the end of this month. Have a nice Sunday.

Today's shave with the Hawk v3 with the open comb base plate was so nice, I am going to continue with the Hawk this week to see if I can graduate to a Feather Professional blade. The Titan "Mild" blade gave very good results.

Razor - Hawk v3 with open comb base plate (The Beast)
Blade - Captain Titan Mild (2)
    Pre-shave - Proraso White
    Soap - Castle Forbes "Lavender"
    Brush - Simpson T3 Trafalgar
Post - Thayers Toner & Proraso balm
    AS - Proraso

I warmed the bowl & brush while I washed my face. I used my spoon to measure a dollop of soap, dropped it into the bowl, and in less than a minute had nice Lavender richness. I could have stopped with one pass but, I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with no cleanup. Maybe the Mild blades are the best match for me? No cuts, nicks, or weepers and no feedback from the alum bar. VERY pleasant and close shave. I may not have enuff to shave off tomorrow!

I am seeing the bottom of the Castle Forbes but, I still have more lavender in reserve to use before I buy any more of this brand. I have a Classic Shaving puck and a jar of TOBS yet to use. I like Lavender.

Yes, the Hawk is still my fav. VERY efficient.

Today's shave, much better than yesterday's. The larger brush (Maggard Marble Handle) was much better for the Stoylin Sheep soap. I dedicated the shave to a video freak("Dougie")who was using Razorock American Barber, a soap I look forward to trying later in the year. He did 3 passes-against the grain, with it, and across it. I didn't do 3 passes-just 2 as usual with shave soaps-but it helped me think about doing different directions here and there.. Zero Cuts, Knicks, and Polka-dots. Osage (A.S.) and Passion 4 Men(cologne) again to close. Outta This World Excellent.
