I too like the Hawk v3. It's a real beast with the open comb base plate! But, the site says that the "A" plate is moreso. I will stay with the standard and the open comb. I really like the open comb. It gives VERY close shaves with Professional blade. I have 3 packs of the Professional blades to use up

 

That handle is gorgeous!

Razor :Yaqi Tile Stainless steel- Mfg 2021, excellent mild > tame mid range, easy to find angle because it is built in, I like to use a Kai extra wide in this razor or a brand new GSB works wonderfully + a joy to use.
Blade : Kai SS extra wide (6). sharp & smoooth with excellent longevity. Top tier for myself but pricy. Great for milder razors IMO.
Soap : Razorock Don Marco, Great citrus scent reminds me of harvest time + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi Panda 24 mm Tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Alum test with Italian barber Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper= excellent shave with my Yaqi DE Tile razor with a Kai Extra wide blade.

Thursday Shave

Lather: Sterling Naked and Smooth soap
Brush: PAA Green Ray
Razor: iKon ShaveCraft
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock green
Post: Sterling unscented Post Shave Balm

I haven't used the iKon ShaveCraft for a long time, probably a couple of years. It is a very smooth shave. One side of the head is an open comb, the other side is a closed comb. It seems to me that the open comb side is slightly less aggressive than the closed comb side, but the difference is slight. I shaved my first pass with the open comb and my second pass with the closed comb and got a smooth, comfortable result.

IMO, you can't go wrong with Old Spice or Bay Rum.

I have tried on multiple times, but the OC is just way too much for me.Ride the cap or not, I cannot get consistently good shaves with it. The Aggressive version is only slightly more so than the Standard version and close to one of my all time favorite razors. I only have the Schick Proline blades so that may be some of my OC issue.
