    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave # 389
    Parker SRB
Gillette Winner 1/2 DE Blade (2)
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
    Arko SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 28.5 hrs

    20220825_142446.jpg

I picked out Arko today because I haven't used it in awhile and quite honestly it's slicker than most soaps and so easy to lather. I made the lather wetter than usual, but this soap can handle it.
Did a 2 pass shave without pickups for a nice, smooth and comfortable shave, but did get a weep on my neck. Styptic took care of it. I didn't get hardly any alum feedback. Finished with my usual postshave finish. I just love the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. I have the option of shaving tomorrow evening or Saturday morning. I probably will shave tomorrow night and let Saturday be my no shave day. Have a great rest of the day.

I went for my ride to the Italian restaurant since it was such a nice day and tomorrow will be crappy. I never got there...one of the belt tensioners broke off and allowed the wheel to cock and the belt jumped off the drive pulley. It got chewed up in the process. I am lucky the wheel did not lock up. I was rolling at 50-55mph. I called a friend and got it trailered home. When I got it home, I started tearing it apart and discovered that the axle nut had loosened. I did not get it tight enuff! I have worked on my bikes since I was 20 and never had this happen! The nut cannot come off due to a clip at the end of the axle threads. But, it can allow the axle to move under torque. The loose nut allowed the axle to move and it hammered on that adjuster til it broke! I had the bike on a jack so, I must have forgotten to give the nut an extra twist once it was on the floor. I couldn't while it was on lift or the bike could fall off (cheep jack)

$300 later.....I have to wait 10 days for parts! Drive belt is pricey! It's also a pain in the butt to remove!

Bike on the lift now. I would LOVE to have a lift table but.....PRICEY!

Very fortunate Hogie. Raspberries at 50 mph would not have been pretty. Glad you were able to come to a stop safely.

I guess you will have to hop in the 4 wheeler to get to your Italian restaurant.

It is for this very reason I always wear my leathers. The jacket has vents so it is not too hot until I get stopped in traffic at a light or road construction. I wear chaps this time of year and when it's cold I wear leather pants. I shudder when I see someone riding with cutoffs, t shirt and flip flops!

Excellent shave Hogie. I am looking forward to the Micromatic shave tomorrow. Is it the MMOC or the MMBT?
