Beautiful shave, Joe. There are too many good soaps out there to be trying to get a soap to work that will not cooperate. Can it
    and move on. :shaver

    Take care.

It's almost the end of the month and I haven't uploaded a shaving video of myself or a shaving related tip. Well, here it is! @JACarbone Joe had called me out because I sometimes use the unorthodox method of frothing. Well, I can't take credit for it because I saw this video by Doug Bear on frothing and how it aids in lathering a new soap. Now I use the froth water as a preshave as well as to get a stronger scent off the puck. I don't froth to get a rich lather like Doug gets in the video. I just thought that I would give you guys another way of lathering. I recommend that you start the video at 2:45 because he thanks a few other YouTubers at the beginning of the video. Enjoy!

    Greetings,

(Face & head Shave.) (Adjustable DE razor focus Week.)

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend....To finish the last week of the month off i'll be using my adjustable DE razors paired together with the Feather Hi Stainless.....Starting off with the very efficient Ming Shi 2000s..This razor alone has helped to improved my technique and shaving confidence multitude i never thought in a million years i would use such an efficient razor for a head shave...Practicing my technique has gave me the shaving confidence to do so.

The Ach Brito Mogno soap is a wonderful performer it gets top marks for it's performance scent, protection, slickness & post shave...Superb stuff!

An enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a few small squirts of Blue Stratos EdT to the chest & pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay Safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend Ladies & Gentlemen.

:signs001: Gary...The Mogno Soap is a shaving soap bar, which could be grated down into a container/dish, but i actually prefer using it like a Shave stick rubbing it into my wet stubble then face lathering with a damp brush, adding small amounts of water to the tips of the brush until i get it to the consistency i prefer....A great soap which i should use more often, if the truth be told.

Terrific setup, post and shave Barry! I didn't realize that the Ming Shi 2000 was a very efficient razor. I have seen YouTubers shave with Ach Brito Mogno and it does perform well. Have a great afternoon!

    DE Shave # 423 - Adjustable August - Weekends

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Ming Shi Futur Clone
    Blade: Shark Platinum
    Brush: Opus Shaving Brushes “Underdog”
Lather: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
Aftershave: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Humphreys Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Excellent DE shave this morning. A small pea/almond sized scoop of the PAA soap whipped up by the boar brush produced lather that began to overflow the bowl. I had enough soap to do a dome shave as well if I chose to. I did not but opted for the barber shears to leave a little fuzz. Gotta keep the missus happy.

The Ming Shi Futur Clone has a total of 6 settings. My first two passes were on setting number 4 and the last pass was dropped to setting number 3. The end results is one super smooth face and neck. The post shave routine was divine, silent alum along with the witch hazel and balm. The aftershave which is sans cloves produces a nice long lasting scent. I will get periodic whiffs throughout the day.

    Enjoy your day gentlemen.

I decided to do one more shave with the Hawk open comb. Blade is getting dull after 6 shaves and nicked me at corner of my mouth but, it stopped leaking on it's own. I had to work a bit harder to get the neck area below the jawline so, I got some feedback from the alum bar. I am binning this blade at 6 shaves. I will finish the month with another adjustable I have. I don't use this adjustable much because I like short handle and it is a long one. Heavy razor too. Vikings Blade "The Emperor". I can finish a Feather "Hi Stainless" blade at the same time. Blade now has 2 shaves on it.

But for today, it's the Hawk v3 open comb. It delivered a nice shave but, the blade is getting dull.

Razor - Hawk v3 open comb
Blade - Feather Professional (6th shave & binned)
    Pre-shave - TOBS Herbal Gel
Soap - Santa Maria Del Fiore "Firenze" Sapone da Barba
    Brush - Simpson T3 Trafalgar
Post shave - Thayers Toner with Witch Hazel & Aloe
AS - Pinaud Clubman "Virgin Island Bay Rum"

This soap has an odd smell to my nose. Almost a chemical smell. Lathers easy enuff and is slick enuff but, the smell is different to my nose. I didn't have to add any more water after I shook out the brush. I did have to whisk at it a bit longer too. I did tend to fling the lather around the bathroom while applying. LOL Pleasant 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with cleanup on my neck/jawline so, alum gave me a report that I did too many passes on neck! One weeper that stopped on it's own. I could feel it when it bit me! Corner of my mouth. Still not a bad shave. I have the open comb dialed in!

Since I uploaded Doug Bear's Frothing Video, I decided to use the method to lather my face, instead of using the froth as a preshave. I must admit that it produced a nice, creamy, slick and low structure lather. It definitely is easier to lather because I am not swirling the brush 200x on the puck. Lol However, this method may not be for shavers who want a thick, luxurious lather.
This is my 22nd shave since I honed it and it's still very sharp. My 2 pass session gave me an error-free BBS shave and I didn't need pickups. Finished the shave with my usual routine. Slight feedback on my neck from the alum. Witch hazel and the matching aftershave were splashed on my face and neck. The matching aftershave has a nice, masculine scent.
    Have a super Saturday!
