I did a single pass today with cleanup.

    1967 Gillette Slim
Feather Hi Stainless 5th shave & binned
    Chiseled Face "Ghost Town Barber"
    Proraso "White pre-shave
    Simpson T2 Trafalgar brush
    Thayers toner & Proraso balm
Chiseled Face "Ghost Town Barber" AS

I managed to cut myself on both corners of my mouth today so, I limited the shave to one pass. WTG with cleanup along jawline. Fairly close shave. Alum bar did not stop the leaks so, I had to use my styptic. Getting lax I guess. Alum bar als raised a little bit of feedback. Could be the blade was getting dull so, I binned it.

    Tuesday morning:

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Wilkinson Sword day 14
    Palmolive Menthol SC
    Prep ASB
    Mennen Skin Bracer AS Splash

This Wilkinson Sword blade is pretty much at the end but strangely enough it still performed well enough for me to get a very good, comfortable BBS shave. The Palmolive Menthol cream from Italy lathered so well with my Plissoft synthetic, and its lovely minty scent filled the bathroom, the menthol sensation felt great, and the postshave care was terrific. The Prep and the Skin Bracer aftershave were a perfect finish. Two passes did the job for me - what a dynamite shave!

Have a good day - be well and safe!

Modular Adjustable Razor (MARS) with plate 6.
    Feather blade - snapped (2).
    Delrin handle synthetic brush.
    Imperial Barber shave soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.
    Cremo Bourbon and Oak EdT.

I figured I would revist and finish out the month with the Mars razor.

Three very nice passes with no blood loss or drama. Even after using the Tatara for a week this razor still impresses me. It is just a excellent razor that performs way above its looks.

The Imperial soap was very thick and slick. It provided great cushion and glide this morning.

Overall it was a very enjoyable shave this morning.

    Take care everyone.

Gary an observation I would like to share is that I've never cut myself with a fresh Feather blade. All my mishaps occur on subsequent uses. I now bin them after two shaves and I'm strongly considering binning them after just one shave.

Slims are notoriously aggressive, Gary. Keep the angle shallow and imagine removing only the lather.

That's interesting, Paul. I find the first shave with a new Feather blade to be somewhat harsh. Second and third shaves are the best and the fourth is usually a "hit-or-miss". So I bin them after 3 shaves.

Hi Primotenore (Love that name!) Thank you for sharing your experience with Feather blades. First shave is definitely best for me and find that they hit diminishing returns very quickly. Last Monday was the first time I cut myself on the second shave, but in all fairness it was completely avoidable in that I was performing another pass when it wasn't required. Too much fun shaving. :)

I can get significantly more mileage out of lower priced blades but the awesomeness of first Feather shave for me is tough to beat.

Yes, I was pushing it at 5 shaves. I have used a blade for 7 shaves before. Could be due to the razor being harsh set at 7. Also that I was not being careful and not paying attention. The thing about liking the aggressive razors is that you have to be extra careful to maintain the proper angle. No cheating allowed. ;)

ASRazor shave, Tuesday, August 30th 2022- Reversed the Schick Twin2 blade for a single edge shave this morning and found it has a little more blade feel and had a very close comfortable shave. Nice blade feel in this configuration for those folks who like blade feel in a razor IMO.
Handled wonderfully also and felt great in the hand. Very sharp blade when reversed also.
In the normal position a Twin2 blade would sit in a razor is the most smoothest and comfortable shave in this Gem MMFW razor and is very nice shaving for daily shavers. It does not feel like a Schick injector but a much nicer feel for myself because the blade is still tilted downward because of the middle blade keeper + more heavier razor IMO. Care is needed to seat blade in blade stops, once clamped down it is not going anywhere because of the way a Micromatic clamps blades IMO.

Razor : Gem Micromatic Flying wing(AKA= guiding eye, Bullet tip, MMFW + MMBT) excellent mild> tame mid range, well built and the heaviest of the 3 main model variants. A joy to use!
Blade : Schick Twin 2 Stainless (2), Excellent blade, Sharp & smoooth with stellar longevity. Excellent for daily shaving! Bought mine years ago when had a good sale, Pricier now when checked last at big auction house.
Soap : Razorock XXX Fresco with mild menthol- nice mild clean scented + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi Bali 24mm Silvertip badger
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Excellent shave with my Gem MMFW with a Schick Twin 2 blade.

Certainly, the more blade exposure, the less room for error.
