You can also puff out your cheeks or use your tongue to push them out. Not all stretching must be done with the hands. :)

I've met Matt, even interviewed him for an article I never wrote (sorry, Matt) long before he was posting videos. He is and was an avid Gillette collector long before he became the face of Razor Emporium. He recently added a lithograph tin double ring to his personal collection at no small cost. The razors in the videos are all his. His passion for the hobby is undeniable.

And yes, I'm sure some of the reason for the videos is marketing. But that isn't the driving force behind those videos.

    It's subscribers and likes. :p

    Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Mandarin & Lemongrass Extract Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears with Mint Extracts Transparent Bar Soap.
    Brush: Omega 10066 Boar.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl : Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
    Lather : MWF.
    Blade: Dorco st300. (D1)
    Razor: Merkur 37C.

    Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Nivea Men Replenishing PSB./Denim Original EdT.

    Greetings,

    (Face & head Shave.)

A new eclectic shave set up to start the Weekend....Maiden shave using the recently purchased Omega 10066 boar brush.

I had already gave the brush a five minute soak in tepid water & pre-wash with Dettol anti-bacterial hand soap leaving it to soak for a few minutes to get rid of any nasties, and to remove any loose hairs repeated the process, to remove the very faint natural piggy fragrance which the Dettol soap removed and finally a rinse with warm & cold water to remove any soap residue...As with most boar/natural hair brushes with regular use it'll be a great brush especially for face /dome-head lathering.
Another wonderful addition to my humble boar brush collection.

For the next month or longer i intend use both my SE & DE razors,+ my Boar brushes, and carry on with a focus run of the mass stock pile of various DE blades which i have accumulated through my past ''impulsive buying urges" and more importantly to start using them up...Starting with the Dorco st300 which paired together with the Merkur 39C wonderfully making a smooth efficient duo.
Due to me having such a vast amount of various Dorco blade's and because they are so in-expensive I'll use them for two shave's regardless if i could possibly get more shaves from them i retire them to the blade bin especially for head shaving which dulls the blade edge much quicker than face shaving.

The Dorco st300 blade are like a lot of DE blades i have used they are not the most aggressive blade, but i find them very smooth and forgiving and pair together with all my DE razors.
Another close comfortable, acceptable face & head shave with errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small few small squirts of Denim Original EdT to the pulse points.

My face and precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

That sounds like a great shave. Thanks for sharing!
Seeing your post makes me want to pull out my Merkur 37C, but I must stay focused for this month! :)

I do enjoy boar brushes as well. I always keep a Semogue 620 in my den as it is my favorite.

I definitely hear you about blades piling up that you have not tried. I always round out my shaving orders with an extra tuck or two of some blade I have never heard of. I started a list of the blades I have yet to try that are in my shave den so I don't forget about them and can work them into my shaves in the future. I also keep a bunch of blades around that didn't work so well for me in hopes a future razor might make good use of them. A recent razor purchase has me going back into those blades as it seems be able to use anything. Then there are those purchases of a hundred blades at a time ... :D

Super Saturday Shave Barry. Congrats on your new Omega boar brush. I like my Omega Pro 49 boar and it performs well and it is quite soft while I am lathering my face. I have never tried Dorco blades because I like more aggressive ones. Haveca marvelous afternoon.

It is very nice getting back to the Hawk v3. Such a pleasant shaver. I used the standard plate with a fresh Professional blade. This was a shave I hated to see done! 2-pass shave got me super close and smooth!

Razor - Hawk v3 with standard plate
Blade - Feather Professional 1st shave
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
    Soap - Captain's Choice "Italia"
Brush - Simpson T2 Trafalgar synthetic
Post shave - Thayers Toner "Rose Petal" & Captain's Choice "Venture" balm
    AS Captain's Choice "Italia"

Very pleasant 2-pass shave with cleanup on my jawline. WTG & ATG. I pre-heated the bowl & brush with HOT water. Scooped a dollop of soap with my spoon. It was a little harder lathering in the bowl as I had to work at dissolving the chip of soap. I had to work at it with the brush and still ended up with a small piece after done. I will have to start whisking in the jar! I do not want to bloom this soap as it is semi-soft. Been a while since I used this harder soap. I got zero cuts, nicks, or errors. Zero feedback from the alum bar.

Terrific shave, pic and setup Hogie! If I have soap left from the lathering bowl, then I just place it back on the puck. I press it down so that it doesn't break off when I use that soap again.

I've found that revisiting certain blades that didn't work for me when i first started out, now give me wonderful results....Technique & shaving confidence is the key to good shaving results...I have the Semogue 830, 1305, 1438, & 1470. The 830 is my most used, but all are great brushes..I'll be doing a mixed of SE & DE razor -Tember focus month using up forgotten infrequently used shaving assortments.:happy088:

    PAULIE PHOTO COUNTDOWN 18 DAYS!

    Good morning!

    GEM MMOC Razor
    GEM SE Blade (4th use)
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
    Stirling Executive Man SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 40 hrs

    20220902_184807.jpg

I decided to go with the GEM MMOC today. They say it's like a straight razor on a stick. As a straight razor shaver, I tend to agree. This razor with the GEM Blade is definitely not for newbies to wetshaving.
Most of us know how Stirling performs so there's no need to rehash it. I will just say that it's a very good soap AR it's price point.

I did a two and a half pass shave for a near BBS shave without cuts or irritation. The blade was tuggy and not smooth for the entire shave so I an surprised that I didn't get any booboos or irritation. More surprisingly, I didn't get much of the normal alum feedback on my neck. Yes, I did get some zings and stings, but considering the blade feel, I was fine with it. Obviously, I binned this blade. It means that I will go to my Rite-Aid pharmacy to buy their generic GEM blades. I figured that I give them a try before I commit to purchasing a 50 or 100 count sleeve.

Finished the shave with a splash of the witch hazel and the cooling AV aftershave. I am satisfied with this morning’s shave. Have a great day guys.

This morning shave could have been better, but it was OK. Why could it have been better. I had a cut on South Porcupine(chin). Went a little too fast, I'd have to say. Elsewhere was real good. Once again, I got that area that has been driving me cuckoo(right side jawline, just under ear). The Stoylin bath soaps have been an improvement over drug-store body washes, though it's a hassle to work the soap block into the whaddya call it(kinda like sponge)..LOOFAH, that's it. I keep going too lightly over the right side of North Porcupine. I need to think about going North-South there. Cactus came out good. The usual one pass with canned sophistication. One cut no Knicks, No polka-dots Pretty Excellent.

You mean he does his video on a selected product, and promotes others at the same time?
