My first shave with the newly acquired C-MON Special. Last night I decided to give it a few laps on the CrOx paste, cotton and leather strips. I was rewarded this morning with a wonderfully close three pass shave. Two passes would have sufficed but I can resist a third.

Summer is ending in 10 days and I figured that I would use Cryogen at least one more time. Maybe two or three more times, before the end of September.
Anyway, I was going to use my Wosty near wedge straight razor, but I will wait for another time to use it. My Dovo shavette got the call and I got a great 2 pass shave with a minor pickup. Only 8 shaves on this blade and it's still quite sharp!
I am a cold water shaver and the Cryogen really was cold even on the first pass. Usually, I feel it on the second pass so I was pleasantly surprised. I lathered my face the third time and I really thought I was going to have frost bite! Lol! It was the coldest feeling that I've had using this soap and I think it was due to the constant wetting the tips of my brush with cold water. I just loved it.
I had negligible feedback from the alum so the shave was very close and comfortable.
Finished the shave with my usual routine and the Cryogen aftershave gave me a nice extra menthol hit. I am still feeling the menthol sensation as I am writing. Have a nice day guys.

Today's shave was one with a scary beginning, but a fine ending. What do I mean. There were 4(count'em 4)Knicks at Porcupine Alley.No pain, they just kinda showed up. Aaah, you just keep on shaving and don't let'em upset you. Everywhere else was fine. Besides, I knew I was working with a chill combination (Frozen Lemon Ice(Wet The Face)and Gent's Gin(Clubman Pinaud). Post-shave, the cold stuff went to work reducing the Knicks to polka-dots. A Pretty Excellent shave in the beginning resullted in Very Excellent in the end.Need to go much slower, be more careful at Porcupine Alley.

 

Awesome maiden shave with your C-Mon, Joe. However, I am not surprised because the C-Mons were used by Brooklyn Italian barber's in the mid 1900's. They are extremely sharp and they hold their edges. I never had a bad shave with my two C-Mons. In my opinion, it is a must have straight for a straight razor shaver. Enjoy your day.
