    Growth: Three day beard.

Prep: Warm shower: Stirling Sheep bar soap

Pre: Washed face with Stirling Glacial unscented pre-shave soap then reapplied before lathering.

    Brush: RV 25 mm STF

Lather : Razorock XXX Italian shaving soap

    Blade: Feather Pro (D1)

    Razor: Razorock Hawk V3
Base Plate: both standard and A plates
    Handle: Razorock Barber Pole

Post: unscented Stirling witch hazel and PAA Mysterium Serum

Based on recommendations, I switched to a sharper blade and went the a Feather Pro blade. This made a big difference with the Hawk V3. The razor was much more efficient than when using the Kai Captain Titan Mild. I also wanted to do a direct comparison between the standard and the A plate, so for both passes, I used the standard plate on the left half of my face/neck and use the A plate for the right side of my face/neck.

Did a two pass shave. The three day growth highlighted the differences between the standard and the A plate. The standard plate would get bogged down in my stubble and it was not a comfortable shave on the first pass. In contrast, the A plate did not get stuck in my stubble , was able to clear the stubble more efficiently and it was more comfortable than using the standard plate. I think in general, even on the second pass where the majority of the stubble was knocked way down, the A plate was still more comfortable to use. The A plate gave a little closer shave but the standard plate was more than acceptable. If shaved daily, I am sure I would be fine with the standard plate but since I shave every 2-3 days, the A plate is a better fit for me. No nicks or weepers, but the I had some razor burn on my neck (both sides) and on my face where the standard plate bogged down in my stubble. DFS+/BBS

Glad the recommendation worked for you David. Now you know how to proceed when using your Hawk for next time.

    Micromatic Menthol Monday!

Razor - GEM Micromatic MMOC in gold
Blade - GEM Personna SS 5th shave
    Pre-shave - Proraso Green menthol
    Soap - Chiseled Face Cryogen
Brush - Classic Shaving synthetic (really nice and soft on the face)
Post - Thayers Toner & Geo F Trumper "Skin Food" Sandalwood"
    AS - Proraso

The Cryogen is COLD! It got my eyes watering while I shaved and even got my nose running! Very pleasant shave with the MMOC. I always enjoy the shaves with these razors. Nice and close & smooth! 2-pass shave with no cleanup. WTG & ATG with no cuts, nicks, or weepers. Very nice!

Another rainy day on tap here today. The Harley dealer is closed on Mondays so, no parts will arrive today....going on 3 weeks now...

I hope all have a pleasant shave today!

Marvelous Menthol Monday shave Hogie. I know that some people's eyes water when they use Cryogen, but I never had that problem. In a word, that soap is indeed COLD. Enjoy your day.

very cool.many folks here love and use them, but they require modded blades or a shim to use injector or feather ac blades i believe.so in reality your just using blades you may have already.shave difference would be negligible..

There is one company in particular that advertises their freezer soap by saying, in effect, "Other companies try to bring out a c0lder soap, but they just can't compete with ours". Can't recall the company, for now.

this one is less brit cologne like but a sweet sandalwood all the same
proraso red is more of a raw sandalwood in comparison.
