Love that little Milk Crate, Joseph. I'm surprised that isn't a more oft-copied design.

    Today's shave: Use-It-Up Tuesday

Warm shower - face brush-washed with Yardley Shea Buttermilk soap
Gillette Pre-War Tech razor with Ball End handle
Derby Extra Stainless Steel blade - 1st shave
    Men's Zone brushless/latherless cream
6:1 blend Vi-Jon Spice/Clubman VIBR after shave lotion

Methodology: Full face WTG; chin and neck XTG; full face ATG
    Shave quality: BBS!
    Nicks, cuts, weepers, irritation: None.
Razor burn: Just a shade more than what I'd call minor.
Shave comfort: First ten swipes or so were marred by significant dragging and tugging. The smoothness quickly improved and by the end of my initial WTG pass, I was getting a smooth, comfortable shave.

This was my first-ever shave with a Derby blade of any stripe, and the performance of the Extra Stainless was very similar to the Astra Superior Platinum. I'm looking forward to seeing how it'll do tomorrow with Williams lather.

The 6:1 blend of Vi-Jon Spice and Clubman VIBR has a fragrance almost identical to what I remember of my Grandpa's Old Spice back in the 1970s. While I'm planning to purchase only mentholated A/S in the future, this blend is starting to really grow on me.

    Tuesday Shave

Lather: Stirling Naked & Smooth soap
    Brush: Ever Ready
    Razor: Gillette Guard
    Post: witch hazel and aloe

Two day stubble for this shave. I wanted to try the Gillette Guard before taking it with me this weekend when we will be staying at the lodge in the North Cascades National Park, just two hours away here in northern Washington state.

The razor is more substantial than plastic disposables like the Bic Sensitive. But it is still very light weight and the head pivots against your face, but I quickly got the hang of it. It is a very mild shave with no blade feel. I did three easy passes and got a respectable result without irritation. Easy and comfortable, I like it!

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #395 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AutoStrop A2 Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Wilkinson Sword day 8
    Bundubeard Kudu’s Kick SS
    Prep ASB
    Alt Innsbruck AS Splash
    Givenchy Gentleman EdT

Once again I wanted to show my brother Jaco’s soaps some love so I selected his Kudu’s Kick. This “Kick” series features three soaps with the same lovely coffee/peppermint scent, a very good glycerine formula, and three levels of menthol. This Kudu is supposedly at the medium level but it’s pretty damned strong - it can make Proraso Green feel insignificantly warm, it lathers beautifully, there’s lots of slickness, and the skincare is excellent. After a nice massage with the Prep which felt heavenly a couple of splashes of the Alt Innsbruck aftershave and a couple of shpritzes of the Givenchy Gentleman and I was good to go. Wow, what an awesome BBS shave this was!

Have a good day - be well and safe![IMG]

I called an audible at the sink of scrimmage this morning, as it is a little warmer today than it should be, but we do have Indian Summers here.

    prep-Stoylin Bath Soap(Mentha Scrub)in shower
    shave-Razorock Lime Burst soap
    brush-Jayaruh #59
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
A.S. Clubman Pinaud Reserve (Gent's Gin)

I was very happy with the shave this morning. The soap is definitely thirsty so I did part of my brush rinse into the soap. Nice face and neck coverage to set up the shave. 2 passes. No Cuts, Knicks, or Polka-dots. Very careful going across the grain at the jawline. I seem to have missed a bit at North Porcupine Alley, but will get it tomorrow. I angled down at the sides of Cactus Nation, then went straight down at the center. The Gent's Gin aftershave was quite pleasant and comfortablen for an Indian Summer day like today. Super Duper Excellent.

I've made it a goal to try to get through some of my longest serving tubs by using them a time or two a week. The Soap Commander Endurance bid adieu this summer, but this big Jeeves tub just keeps hanging on. Several shaves left on it.
    Have a great day all!
