1912 GEM "Damaskeene" shave was excellent! Fresh blade. And on this wet, dark morning, Sherlock fits. Theo is back to watching me shave now that I don't open the house in the morning.

    Razor - 1912 GEM "Damaskeene"
Blade - GEM Personna SS fresh blade
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
    Soap - Chiseled Face "Sherlock"
Brush - Simpson T2 Trafalgar synthetic
Post-shave - Thayers Toner with witch hazel "Lavender" & Proraso balm
    AS - Chiseled Face "Sherlock"

It is always a pleasant shave with these vintage single edge razors! I warmed the bowl & brush with hot water and bloomed the soap too. Washed face with ivory soap and warm washcloth. I listened to the hard rain on the roof right above the bathroom. Soothing. 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with no cleanup. This Damaskeene looks like new! No marks on it and the door moves stiff like it has not been opened and closed a lot. NICE find!

Alum bar was silent. No cuts, nicks , or weepers! Very nice shave! This soap loaded the brush in less than a minute and gave me more than euff lather for the shave. Very nice scent too!

Now that I compare the 2 Damaskeenes that I have, one is definitely older. The door looks a bit different. This is the newer one, I think.

    Growth: Two day beard.

Prep: Warm shower: Stirling Sheep bar soap

Pre: Washed face with Stirling Glacial unscented pre-shave soap then reapplied before lathering.

    Brush: RV 25 mm STF

Lather : Razorock XXX Italian shaving soap

    First Pass:
Razor: Feather Artist Club SR kamisori razor
Blade: Schick Pro Line P-30 (D1)

    Second Pass:
    Razor: Schick 500 Injector Razor
    Blade: Chinese Schick (D1.5)

Post: unscented Stirling witch hazel and PAA Mysterium Serum

First pass: I had not used the SR for a full shave in a while and had a few insertion weepers. The P-30 blade was not rough and did nicely. It was plenty sharp. I don't know if the previous shave where I used it for touch ups with the Razorock Hawk took out the initial harshness or not.

Second pass: The Schick 500 gave an effortless shave with excellent results. This is my favorite injector razor of the three I have tried so far. Definitely a razor for a morning work shave.

I have been staying with the ProGuard blades for now. They seem to shave me just fine. I don't think I will ever go to the Professional blades for the open blade shavettes that I have. I get a very pleasant and super close shave now, so, why tempt fate? LOL

Thank you, Joe... Your right my friend, Alum shows if you're using the correct pressure and technique. When I first started out I had a tendency to chase perfection and over shave until I realized it was unnecessary to do so causing irritation when I applied the alum it felt like I had applied sulphuric acid to my skin. After that I've never chased for BBS when I apply alum now it's a refreshing tonic for my ugly mug. Enjoy your day.

Pretty routine Throwback Thursday shave this morning. One Knick, at South Central Porcupine Alley(almost right at the jawline). . One pass, which is the normal # for canned shaves. I should say MY normal #. Again, I could have done better at North Cactus Nation. Will focus on there tomorrow. That Vetiver de Guerlain is a real nice A.S. Followed that up with Pierre Cardin cologne. Most Excellent.
