Growth: Two+ day beard.

Prep: Warm shower: Stirling Sheep bar soap

Pre: Washed face with Stirling Glacial unscented pre-shave soap then reapplied before lathering.

Brush: RV 25 mm STF

Lather : Razorock XXX Italian shaving soap

Blade: GEM Personna SS (D4)

Razor: Blackland Sabre
Base Plate: L2
Handle: Blackland Sabre

Post: unscented Stirling witch hazel and PAA Mysterium Serum

My L2 plate arrived ahead of schedule and today happened to be a shave day, so I thought I would give the new plate a try.

I did a two pass shave with touch ups.

The L2 plate definitely was more efficient than the L1 plate. In two passes I was able to knock down all but some stubble in the mustache area (especially directly under my nose which is tricky to get to).

In the mustache area, I did a N-S pass, an E-W pass, and then a lot of blade buffing in a various directions to knock down the remaining stubble. I still had a tiny bit of stubble under my nose but I figured that I had done so much buffing that I did not dare do any more or risk even more irritation. I already had razor burn in the mustache area.
I will reconsider my approach to the mustache area with this razor.

I do have to say that it is a nice feeling razor and look forward to seeing how many shaves I will get with the GEM blades.

Today is a no shave day for me.

 

My Throwback Thursday shave could have been great, but I did a Niagra Falls on the aftershave. I forgot that the Central Texas Soaps aftershaves come out fast and furious if you don't prevent it from happening somehow. I know the solutions to use, just didn't use them this morning. Wonderful shave overall with the soap of the same name. 2 passes. No Cuts, Knicks, and/or Polka-dots. Greg has a great shave setup down in Texas. Due to the Niagra Falls incident, I may have too much of the aftershave on. If outside crowds move away from me, that will cinch it. Course if they come closer to me and say they can't get too much of a leather scent, all will be well. . Very happy with tosay's results, and without Niagra Falls I'd be SUPER happy. As it is, Super-Duper Excellent.

As Paul says, it's Throw-back Thursday! Lather Catcher fits the bill. Cool morning so, Theo slept with me all night. I woke and rolled over to be face to face with a Fluffy! He started purring loudly and gave me kisses all over my face. He likes the mornings when he gets combed and fed. He LOVES being combed.

Razor - 1907 Ever-Ready "Lather Catcher"

Soap - Sir Hare "Classic Barber"
Brush - Simpson T3 Trafalgar
Post-shave - Thayers Toner "Lavender" & Proraso balm
AS - Pinaud Clubman

I washed face while I pre-heated the bowl & brush. Filled the scupper with HOT water. SO nice to have warm lather on a cool morning. I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with minor cleanup along jawline and neck. I chanced getting irritation but, was rewarded with zero feedback from the alum bar. No cuts, nicks, or weepers. Smelling nice and feeling clean!

One more single edge razor day....what to use? Maybe a MMOC to finish the blades and bin.
