    Friday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Vintage Life Morning TOST
    Jayaruh #424
    Cobra Classic
    Feather Professional
    CWR
    Pinaud Clubman AS

The Vintage Life Morning TOST Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Cobra Classic Razor and the Feather Professional Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    What an awesome shave buddy!

Yes, Musketeer Rapier is apparently a carbon copy of Aramis, is such a delightful fragrance!

    Friday morning:

    Hot shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Wilkinson Sword day 3
    Rondavel Wild Dagga SS
    CutiBase Moisturizer
    Brut Deodorant Spray
    Brut AS Splash
    Brut Cologne

This Rondavel soap is very unique - it’s from South Africa and if you notice in the picture it looks exactly like a shower soap or a hand soap but it’s definitely for shaving. “Dagga” means “marijuana” in Zulu or Xhosa but the scent is actually very pleasant in an outdoorsy way, the lather whips easily although it’s not too slick or cushiony but the skincare is still fairly good. The CutiBase moisturizer gave me the extra soothing I needed, and the Brut aftershave along with the matching cologne smell so old school and awesome. Just two passes sufficed for a great BBS shave!

Enjoy your weekend - be well and safe![IMG]

    Razor - GEM Micromatic MMOC
Blade - GEM Personna SS (7)
    Pre-shave - ProrasoWhite
    Soap - MWF
    Brush - Simpson T3 Trafalgar
Post-shave - Thayers Tone with witch hazel "Rose Petal" & Geo F Trumper Skinfood
    AS - Pinaud Clubman "Vanilla"

Washed face and warmed the scupper mug and brush with HOT water. Nice warm lather on a cool morning. It was 35 here. Theo is back to atching me but, e raced out of the bathroom....he gets the zoomies when he is in a good mood.

Pleasant 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with cleanup along the jawline. The blade is getting dull so, it is binned now. I really thought I would get feedback from the alum due to the extra passes but, none at all! Very nice shave to end the month! Clean and smooth!

Nice, long leisurely shower today, to shave my legs & underarms.
    Razor- Ming Shih DE
    Blade- Feather
    PSO- Lavender mint
Soap- Sara’s Creations lavender mint. With a little Pacific Shaving Natural.

I use the cream on my inner thighs as an augment to the shave soap. This area is the most prone to irritation. I get little to none, when I combine the cream & the soap.

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC 50mm + new Milano polished 316 SS handle- Mfg 2021> excellent upper mild to tame mid range, interesting simple clamping system, small head parts and I like to work over a wash cloth. I always get decent shaves with this Excalibur SE.
Blade : Feather Pro AC 50mm- sharp & smooth + reasonable longevity for a AC blade.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum sage & cedar wood , nice scent of Bayrum + some clove, this soap works well with a pastier lather with a wet face and it will produce some nice slick lather, try not to perfect it in the bowl is my conclusion. Very enjoyable soap to master.
Brush : Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24 mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood [IMG] + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur with a AC Feather pro.

    Thursday's shave: Freestyle Friday

Warm shower - face washed with Yardley Shea Buttermilk soap
Gillette Pre-War Tech head/Dishi 3-Tier CNC Stainless handle
Derby Premium blade - 2nd shave
Mama Bear's Aromatic Pipe Tobacco soap
    RazoRock Snowman brush
daylogic (Vi-Jon) Arctic Blue after shave lotion

    Methodology: Face-lathered. Full-face WTG; neck/chin XTG; full-face ATG.
Shave Quality: BBS, but not quite as good as yesterday's first shave with this blade.
Nicks/cuts/weepers/irritation: Nicked myself just below my nose going ATG. Styptic pencil to the rescue...
Razor Burn: Just the slightest touch.
Shave Comfort: Shave began smoothly enough, but the blade started to feel worn as I worked through my ATG pass.

Overall, I'm not impressed with the Derby Premium blade. After just two shaves--neither of which were smooth throughout--the blade is feeling worn out and I nicked myself where I normally wouldn't. I'm not going to chance a third go with this particular blade. Next up: The Gillette Rubie.

Updated blade rankings, best to worst:
    BiC Chrome Platinum
    Astra Super Stainless
    Derby Extra Super Stainless
    daylogic (Personna Israel)
    Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge
    Astra Super Platinum
    Derby Extra Stainless
    Shark Platinum
Gillette PlatinumPlus (Brazil) lowest-ranked blade I'd enjoy using
    Personna (USA) Platinum Chrome
    Derby Premium
    Dollar General (Dorco)
    Family Dollar (Dorco)
    Van der Hagen Ice-Tempered
    Merkur Super

My tub has been hanging around here since 2008, and the passage of time has improved both the fragrance and the performance of this soap. It's excellent, and my second favorite behind only my tub of RazoRock Essential Oil of Lime soap.

I couldn't make good lather with the soap until I acquired my RazoRock Snowman synthetic brush. Now it just explodes into decadent greatness with minimal effort.
