I used to shop at Wegman's a lot when I lived in Rochester, NY, my home town. Danny Wegman, whose Grandfather was one of the co-founders, graduated from my alma mater, McQuaid, some years before me. They had the biggest subs for the price.

Sunday shave, OCtober 3rd 2022

Razor : Yaqi adjustable "The final cut"- excellent adjustable razor, well built and a great Gibbs 1930's design but this razor takes regular standard Gillette blades which is ideal, very enjoyable + affordable for most folks who have or like to shave IMO.
Blade : Gillette Nacet (3), sharp & smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Speick stick, nice mild spicy scent with excellent lather qualities. Triple milled and lasts a long time IMO.
Brush : Yaqi Red Zebra 26mm snow Leopard synthetic knot, Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi TFC with a Gillette Nacet blade.

I have been tempted to get one of them Schicks but, I already have more blades than I can use up and getting a Schick would mean more blades. LOL

2 pass perfect EBS, smooth as an eel's buttocks. Soap came from $1.25 Tree, it lathered up immediately, served well, and smells pleasant.

Here my Sunday Shave (02.10.2022)


Razor: RazoRock Lupo SS .95 // Blade: Gillette Silver Blue // Soap: Barrister and Mann Nocturne // Brush: Shavemac 173 Synthetic // Aftershave: Aloe Vera Gel

I wanted to try a new Blade…Gillette Silver Blue. After reading some posts in Forums and stuff, some people said that this blade would be better than the Gillette Bleue Extra.

So i tried the blade.

After three passes my face was smooth and very thoroughly AND very red in some areas. No pressure was used during the shave and now i knew what it was…Razorburn

Never had Razorburn FOR YEARS. So, that shows me, that this blade is not my type of blade, because with the GBE THIS does not happen.

Nevertheless the shave was good in two passes with minor touch ups.

The Aloe Vera Gel and a recommended cream from a friendly FB-Group member helped with the Razorburn so that today all is good again.

It just doesn’t get any better than this - the gorgeous peppermint/espresso scent of the Peppermint Latte soap and aftershave - the soap’s tallow formula gives such magnificent lather with a helluva strong menthol sensation as well as soothing, gentle skincare. The Prep balm felt so good when I massaged it on, and the Peppermint Latte aftershave’s witch hazel formula gives absolutely no burning or stinging, the menthol kick can flatten an elephant, and it’s so soothing. The scent profile of the soap and aftershave pairs very well with the Lagerfeld Classic eau de toilette. What a cracking good BBS shave this was!

The Tea Tree Body Bar and Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #371 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Double Ring and the Astra SP Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thought it was time for a bit of a change so am using an injector this week. Been quite awhile since using one but the technique quickly came back and a fine shave was had. Love vintage Williams though I can get a great lather from the modern stuff as well. So it's a great start to the week. Now go enjoy your day folks.
